Help needed! Unkown VC watch.

Hi all, I have found this site whilst trying to find out some information for a relative and am hoping someone might be able to help.

My relative has had this watch I think for about 35 years, given to her as a present. Currently it is uninsured and when she took it to the local jeweller he said he didn't have enough insurance in order for him to allow it to remain on his premises. She wants it valued to ensure that it is fully covered.
Can anyone here tell me anything about it? Like what model it is and even better, venture a rough valuation?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend someone in the UK (I guess London) who would know enough to provide a valuation for it?

Any help gratefully received.
Best regards,

Hi and welcome. I would suggest

contacting an auction house: Antiquorum, Christie's or Sotheby's in London or one of the vintage watch shops in Burlington or Piccadilly Arcade for an evaluation. If you have a watchmaker take the case back off you will have the ref number engraved in it and it would help us give more information on the watch.

Hi Alex and thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.  I shall do as you say and in particular will try to follow up with one of the jewellers, if only so they can help me to find the reference number! I will call David Duggan tomorrow and see if I can arrange something with him.  I shall post back my results on here, it might be of interest or indeed help to someone in the future. Thanks again.
It's a beautiful example of case work and jewel setting....

too bad it's not to modern tastes .  My local jeweller had a ladies gold bracelet V&C with caliber 1050 that couldn't be fixed cheaply so she had him put a quartz movement in and thus ruined the watch .
