Help on origins of Vacheron & Constantin watch please?

Hi

I'm hoping some of you knowledgeable people are able to help me.

I have an old watch, that looks art deco and has Vacheron &Constantin engraved very small upon the back. I have sent a few emails and unfortunately they have all gone unanswered, so I'm hoping you will be able to provide me some history and information on this watch if any exists!

The watch has 10 carats of diamonds (112 small stones), 4 carats of emeralds (20 stones). It appears from the face, which has no obvious marks, that it can be worn either way around. The face has no discernable markings and on the back it has Vacheron & Constantin engraved. Size wise, the face is about 5mm square and the strap is of a similar width.

It is a beautiful watch and I'd really like to know it's history or to be given some advice on how I can find out myself please.

Thanks and please accept my apologies for appearing on the forum to use you in such a way, but I don't know where else to ask! :)

Ladies V&C jewellery watch with caliber 1005 movement.  That caliber is still in use today!  A watchmaker will have to remove the back and obtain the case and movement numbers.  VC can then provide the date of manufacture...very hard to date jewellery watches by style alone.

Thanks very much, I didn't expect such a prompt reply. (My son responds for me as computers and forums aren't my thing!) So what you're saying is, if I get the details of the movement, by taking it to a watchmaker, then giving those details to VC will enable me to find out more about it's history? You'll have to excuse my naivety, but do makers such as VC make bespoke watches then? Thanks again.
yes if you give us the case and movement numbers we can then

give you at least the date of manufacture. VC did and still does make bespoke watches.

Hi Alex and tick-talk I didn't want to start a new thread, although depending on whether or not this gets a response, maybe I might have to! I took my watch into a watchmaker today and he got the following numbers, they don't make much sense to me, so hopefully they will to you. This is what I have wrote down, verbatim: There are 2, 18K 0.750 and the number is 371854 on the Bezel is 854 and CAL 1005 movement. Is this the right place to put the numbers or should I be emailing them to VC directly? I would appreciate any help you can give me please and excuse my obvious ignorance. Thanks again CherryAnne
