Help with Strap Choices

With a little patience and my trusty Swiss Army watch knife, I was able to remove the bracelet from my new-to-me 6694.  I'd prefer a leather strap for comfort, fit and to avoid scuffs with regular wear.

Help with Strap Choices

It seems, with the gold dial, that a brown alligator strap is the way to go.  I had an extra one laying around with white stitching that played nicely off the dial but my wife thought was a bit too "sporty".  So I'm hoping for some suggestions from the audience and would really appreciate if you can post pics of other strap choices.  Thanks in advance!

Help with Strap Choices

I have to say I like your combination!

It does look a bit sporty - your wife's right - and there's nothing wrong with it To bring out the vintage in your Batman other suggestions I have for you is a brown strap with brown stitchings just like in my Patrimony Contemporaine below: how about a classic black on black just like in that piece unique below... BTW, I am not a big fan of bracelets in general but the original one looks really funky
Wow, beautiful huh?! I am a sucker for RG case & black dial!

Whew...what a combo!
I agree with your wife

I would rather like same tone stitching.
Fight for your right to be sporty!!!

I think your Batman watch with the brown strap and white stitching looks FANTASTIC! Tell your wife I think you've got great taste (easy for me to say a few thousand miles away) Seriously, I think this is the best combo IMO. Cheers, Francois

I like the bracelet too. The link pattern is quite unusual these days and has a fascinating geometric pattern. Having said that, I have to agree with your wife. With those diamond markers and the name "Royal Chronometre" this is a "serious" watch. I really like the brown croc strap but would prefer the same colour stitching. But try them side by side and see which you prefer. Joseph
I would have to concur...

with the others here and say that the brown strap with same colored stitching would probably be best for this watch.  Also, if the strap had just a little touch of shine/gloss to it, then it would also help make the watch "pop" a bit more on your wrist. Cheers, Duncan
I find the white stitching too sporty fo such a watch (nt)

I'm going to try a dark brown croc with medium padding and semi-gloss finish.  I'll post pics when I have something to show. Re bracelet, it is nice but just too large for my puny wrist!  The individual links remind me of "squashed" grains of rice and the construction is marvelous...tight but supple.  There is a grooved pattern with alternating stronger lines plus a slightly hammered texture, all carried over onto the top of the lugs.  Really quite complex. Now, can anyone recommend a source for such straps?  I'm looking for one with the quick-release spring bars and haven't had any luck with my regular sources.  Please pm. Cheers, Dean

Anor vote for same colour stitching...

Looks good this way. The contrasting stitching was definitely making it a little sporty, and also drawing the eye a bit too much away from the watch.

Without the white stitches it looks more elegant, more sophisticated...

I think you got the right one there!

It matches the gold case beautifully.

Strap on order

I don't know why I have more trouble picking a strap than a watch!   Anyway, I have a dark brown matte alligator on order, with same colour stitching and small grain rather than the large scales on this strap. Here is a parting shot of the strap with white stitches. I may switch to this every once in a while just to feel "sporty".
