Help Valuing Watch

Hello. I am new to the forum and have recently purchased a Vacheron and Constantin 4906 that I would like to get some more information on. Anything helps! The watch is a 4906 with a 21 jewel movement and is a P498 Calibre. The case is 18K and the band is a 14K aftermarket piece. What is a reasonable price for this watch? I have heard the P498 is a relatively rare calibre? Is this true? Thanks.

Also, could the movement be a JLC?
We don't generally discuss price information, but...

search the auction house results - Antiquorum and Christie's are great sources - as is Sotheby's.

I believe it is based on a JLC ebauche.  This is not uncommon, although they are moving to more all in-house movements.

I really like the look of it, although you really want to get an authentic VC bracelet or strap on there.

Do you know its history?  Has it been restored, serviced, etc?

Hi and welcome just a quick question

If you just bought the watch its value is what you paid:-) Cal 498 is based on a JLC ebauche

Hmmm... good point.

I am guessing we can guess exactly what he paid! Or someone seems to have about a month ago.

No price is too high for a work of art.
