HELP WANTED Vacheron Constantin Overseas

Dear All,

I need your advice, I just bought a second hand Overseas and I would like to find out the year it was made and to which country it was first sold.

Could you please help me how to proceed or who to contact?

Thank you,

Gregory

Do you have the box and paperwork? The date it was sold and AD purchased from from is on the certificate.

Hi MiltonH,

Thank you for the quick response.

I've got the International Warranty with model No, Case No,  Movement No., and Specs, and the Vacheron seal on the right side however no distributor and no date at all. That's how I got it. It looked starnge but I was told it was sold previously amond dealers so that's why it's still not dated and signed by any distributor.

This is the reason why I'd like to find out the true story of the watch. Do you have any idea who to contact?

Thanks,

Gregory

When a watch is sold may not reflect when it was manufactured.

A watch made in 2005 may not be sold to a customer til 2007.

All VC watches have a case and movement number which can indicated fairly precisely when the watch was made, particularly the movement number.

You would have to get the back open to get that information, however.

Once you have it, you can contact Vacheron, either a boutique or repair facility or contact the Boutique in Geneva.

Vacheron's database should have the information. They have it for all the watches they've made (certainly in the 20th century), but likely going back to their begining.

Good Luck,

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

Thank you, I have the case no and the movement number, too, but I couldn't find any email address so far to Vacheron at all, not even to any boutique or any authorized dealers or customer service. Could you please write me some email address I could write to my request?

Thank you,

Gregory

If you go to the Vacheron website:

http://www.vacheron-constantin.com

you will find a list of all the boutiques etc. (Click under "Contacts")

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

I checked that already, no email addresses at all.  There is none in my country so it's quite difficult to visit them.

Do you know any email address?

Thanks,

Gregory

Hi Alex,

Thanks, I will do that since there isn't anything else left. I'm still surprised why VC has no email access at all only telephone.

It's really strange...

It's actually not strange that they do not list email addresses.  Make's the whole process more 'personal' and less prone to spam.

If  you have the chronometer certificate, check for the date of testing.  While the movement is tested before it is cased, that will at least give you a starting point to know the earliest date for your watch.
