Hi Alex, ever come across this watch?

Hi Alex, hope all is well for you. Anyway i bumped into this watch and couldnt seem to find any info bout it. Its a unique VC with a crown at 12, natural stone dial which i dont know its name and housed a handwinding movement. I would appreaciate it a lot if you can provide me more information on this piece. Thanks.

Hi Jacky, that's a reference 92012 made in the

90s and inspired by VC's "top winding" watches from the late 20s-early 30s

The ref 92012 existed to the best of my knowledge in white and yellow gold, with manual winding cal 1014.

The model you saw has a lapis lazzuli dial with diamond markers. I know that this version was extremely rare but need to find out if it was a limited edition or not.

PS: Its always good to see you here

ref 92012 was launched in 1996 in yellow gold with silver dial and lapis lazzuli dial (the seconds subdial is in mother of pearl), the white gold version was launched in 1997 and production stopped around 2000.

Even though the lapis lazzuli dial model is not a limited edition production numbers are low.

Are you contemplating getting it?

Hi Alex, you are indeed a VC walking encyclopedia.

This is the piece that Jacky and I viewed together this afternoon.  Both of us are attracted by the watch.  It was offered at about USD11,600-00. We are trying to use our negotiation skill to knock it down.  The second hand watch dealer is uncertain as to whether there is box and paper for the watch.  My urge to get the watch has been enhanced by your information.  I am sure Jacky will feel the same.  Let's see who gets it.

You are sure quick! Thanks alot for the info. Yes it is very tempting as Ling said it but i must really adjust my pocket :P No doubt it is a beautiful watch and i think it is pretty rare too despite the fact that its not a LE...i mean how often do VC make any LE but they never flood the market with any of their models :) Thats the good thing bout VC. Also i think its not common to find a Lapis dial on watches and that this makes it even better i guess. It is a very good looking watch. Hmm...i am in love again...
