Hi from a Newbie

Hi all,

Watch enthusiast/collector for long long time, first time VC owner.

I treated myself to a pre-woned Overseas Chronograph on my 30th birthday last November. Absolutely everything about the watch screams quality.. Dial with intricate details, Maltese cross bracelet, the case that is built like a nuke bunker, feel and weight of the watch, all come together to make this watch a very special item to behold.. No doubt that VC deserves to be one of the best watch companies along companies like PP, ALS, AP and JLCs.

As I was doing more research on the brand and its products, I fell in love and was planning on getting a new Quai de-L'Ile halfway through this year, but had to get my old man a new car last month... So you probably won't see me posting new watch thread for sometime..But I look forward to living vicariously through other's purchases :D

I also look forward to sharing experiences with fellow VC enthusiasts and learn more about this fantastic brand.
Welcome to THL systemcrasher!

Are you a hacker or do you just have bad luck with IT systems?  winklaugh Nice watch, but I'm disappointed that you don't have a picture to share, will we be getting any scans soon, preferably a wristshot? angel I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely.  Congrats!  I happen to be wearing my OS Chrono today, an original Gen 1 Best Regards, Dan

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Haha, it's not bad luck that make me crash systems :D lol just a pc game handle i've been using since I was young that's all, I'm no hacker or anything like that.. And i haven't forgotten about the unwritten law of forums - no pics, didn't happen. So here are some freshly out of the camera :) Never took wrist shots before, so tis little shakey.. Sitting on VC pad VC & JD I've been wearing this as my daily watch since the day I got it. I found it to be a very versatile watch and for a high-end piece, the watch does not draw too much attention. In fact, no attention would be better description. I've only had two people recognise the watch, but were both watch dealers. I absolutely don't mind that the watch doesn't scream for attention. I definitely need the end of the year to come around asap so I can take this little guy on its first trip.
Super watch!

Welcome .......to another Aussie and collector of VC and JD haha...................like me.    And a fellow Overseas owner. I'm flying to Sydney to see Van Halen/Aerosmith on the 20th so might see you there cool I don't actually drink much in the way of JD but love their livery and so have my billiard room decked out in JD memorabilia.
VH and Aerosmith are playing the same gig?! I'm flying over!!!!

ohhh you seeing VH and Aerosmith? Lucky soul.... Probably my chance to see Van Halen or Aerosmith live, but I can't see them due to work commitments.. I missed out on Metallica few years back because of work too... :/ But can't complain too much as I did see Robert Plant couple of weeks ago, which was great! - thanks to work.. :D Lol, I don't drink much, but I do like grabbing a bottle or two when I'm coming back from overseas trips - especially rare ones like Single Barrels and Johnnie Walker Double Black  :) It's great to see many fellow Aussies collectors!
