Home again, had a wonderful visit

A week in Geneva and a week in Jungfrau region was a great time with good friends, old and new.  But now it is also good to be home on one's own pillow angel.  So many adventures and thoughts to share; will take a day or two to sort them out.  In the meantime, here is a view from the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria, famous from the Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

First one must take a near vertical cable car from the valley village of Lauterbrunnen to the cog railway that travels along a mountain bench to the ski resort Murren, then another two cable cars to the top of the Schilthorn.

Home again, had a wonderful visit

As we had a clear day the views were outstanding, and I particularily enjoyed the imposing North Face of Eiger which was central to another favorite movie, The Eiger Sanction - an Bond-type thriller starring Clint Eastwood.  Left to right: Eiger (Ogre), Mönch (Monk), and Jungfrau (Young lady)...you get the symbolism devil

Home again, had a wonderful visit

But what good would this post be without a wrist shot?  Completely in it's element, a Ref 44018 aka Jumbo 222:

Home again, had a wonderful visit

A few days later we visited the Jungfraujoch observation station, located on the ridge between Mönch and Jungfrau, which involves taking a train right through the Eiger!  The site also boasts the worlds highest retail watch store at 3454m, but that's for another post.
Welcome home, 007

Super tune, Tony, especially when sung by the incomparable Louis Armstrong.  Twas my favorite Bond movie because it was sooo quirky and, ahem, Diana Rigg.

AP launched their "historiques" 40th anniversary Extra-Thin (aka Jumbo) Royal Oak last year, with display back showing the gorgeous caliber 2121, so if history is anything to go by VC will follow in 5 years sad.  I'm just wondering if, as supplier of the ebauche, AP exercised some influence in the matter?!?!
