I was hoping to be able to come to the dinner up until the last minute... I am sad to have missed it, but seeing all those shots is the next best thing - thank you F-X Hopefully, one day I'll see Les Masques in the metal (Alex, I'm looking forward to an HL dinner in London...) I would also really like to hold the QdI in my hands again... My favorite is definitely the time and date simple model. Not sure if it would be in palladium, palladium/titanium, or maybe RG (it looks very nice in RG with a brown strap... this could be my first RG watch) By the way, Alex, it seems that every time we see you in pictures, an extra button on your shirt gets undone... by the time you get to London, it seems like the watches won't be the only show in town Cheers, Francois
LOL Francois :-) (nt)

Many thanks for some great photos and a little vicarious sharing. The watches are really stunning particularly the Masques. I see Clement Finet in the backround of the first photo...bonjour Clement, ca va bien? But the setting is really stunning. Where was it held? I don't think any of the other VC dinners will match it! I wish I could have been there too. Hopefully there will be one on this side of the Atlantic soon. Merci bien d'avoir nous montrer les photos de la soiree, F-X. (BTW Any pics of the food?) Joseph
Thanks so much FX, it was indeed fun. One small correction...
09/13/2008 - 10:40
the evening was organised by VC and Hour Lounge (I really want to make the distinction between the two ) I don't know how you took such great photos with the lousy lighting!!!
Many, many thanks for sharing these pics with us Fr. Xavier

Excellent shots of the watches under what I imagine were the less than ideal lighting conditions.  It seems rather ironic that most watch events are held at venues where the lighting is suboptimal for both photography and just plain viewing of the timepieces. Must have been a wonderful evening with these fine watches and my very poor French (limited almost exclusively to menu and food items ) leads me to believe that the dinner was probably pretty good too. Thanks again, Duncan

The Paris Hour Lounge dinner was held at the Press Club in a very 18th century atmosphere and architecture. The evening started out with cocktails Annick, Fred and Jean Yves Di Martino head of VC France Fred and Fabien ("Kramer") Bettina Frenot head of marketing for France Josephine Daurian PR for France  Francois ("Frankie") and Arnaud Bernard ("Berny") and Sandra Lin ("LN") and Vafa Vafa, Clement, Jérome ("Mercator") Alberto S my friend and fellow Patek moderator on Horomundi enjoying himself :-) Patrice the guest book We then moved to the dining area for a short presentation of the Quai de l'Ile then dinner After dinner we got to see some watches and were probably among the first to see not only the Quai de l'ile models but also the Grands Explorateurs and the new Masks set! Some shots of what the Loungers were wearing Time to go home...don't forget the goody bags
Thanks Alex. It is great to be able to put names to faces.

Sure looks like our friend Alberto was enjoying himself.  Curious to know who the lady is, who is putting such a  smile on his face, and perhaps what she is saying to him... Cheers, Duncan

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful report. I wish I could have been there to meet some fellow loungers and experience in person those incredible VC watch editions. The setting was equally distinctive and formal representing the beautiful  history in France. I noted the Bordeaux shared, but where was the fine Cognac and Calvados to end the evening?   Hope to hear of more fun Lounger GTG dinners. Loved all the photos. Thanks again Alex!!!!  Best regards, Matt

Merci beaucoup, Alex. Quelle fete! I can see that VC knows how to put together a wonderful dinner (Well actually I knew that already), but they do such a wonderful job! It was also great to see people that I've already met (Lin, Clement, Jerome) looking well; and other Loungers who I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting and now at least can attach a face to the name. BTW Kramer doesn't look anything like his picture! (LOL) The setting is really magnificent and the watches extraordinary. It looks like everyone had a wonderful time. Many thanks for sharing, Alex. And thanks to Vacheron for hosting the Loungers. Regards, Joseph PS: Gale says "Happy Birthday"!
Thanks Alex...Good to see all the "regular suspects"...
09/14/2008 - 03:50

Good to see all the regular suspects as well as some less exposed faces. I think half the fun of these events, aside from getting to see and handle the goods, is getting to meet and interact with other Loungers, fellow WIS, and VC stafff. I see Lin is looking dapper as usual.  It is also good to see Jerome and Albert S. again.  Nice to see many pictures of Fred and other Loungers (now I can put faces to the names). As to the watches...I must admit I am really smitten by the TTGE but the QdI is looking better everytime I see it.   But aside from the watches on display, it is always interesting to see what everyone is wearing during the event (Thanks for not forgetting).  I see there were many non-VCs in attendance but I really liked the vintage VC chrono, the Malte Chrono, and the Historiques Chrono (probably Lin's salmon pink?).   Thanks again!! Ciao. Kazumi

Those cufflinks remind me of Stefan Sarpeneva's Korona series.
Thanks Fred for the report
