How to spot a fake?

hi guys

i'm very new. am trying to tell the difference between a fake and a real vacheron constantin, would like to seek all of your wisdom here!

 How to spot a fake?

the watch i'm looking at, if i got it right, is the patrimony traditionnelle perpetual calendar (see appeded picture). I hope I got the name right, I got it right of the VC website by identifying the watch closest to the one I saw.

first question

1) does this watch comes in a ladies version

2) does anybody own the above watch, mens or ladies version? Could you kindly append a picture in real life please?

3) how does the watch strap and clasp look like?

4) how much does this watch cost in a retail store?

5) last but not least, if the watch is as the picture above, but only has one knob at the side- it GOTTA be a fake no?

thanks guys for your help :)

if it is too good to be true it sure is...

Click the above link and read this first. I am sure you will find a lot of answers here.wink

The watch shown in the picture is a Malte Chronograph Pepretual Calendar from the limited collection called Excellence Platine, 50 pcs made. No such lady piece exists, not even with only one crown - unless it is a flea market in Antalya, Turkeysurprise

homework after having purchased. The link Radek posted is a must read!

If you use the search function and type Malte Perpetual calendar chrono platinum you'll see many photos and reviews.

If I recall the original retail was something around euro 120 000

here are some I had taken

Well if nothing else...

This post has reminded me how much I love this piece.  Maybe the one VC for which I would trade my 1921.  (Did I just write that? I must be drunk.)  Certainly my favorite moonphase on the planet, and my favorite perpetual-chronograph piece.  Thanks for posting the photos.

What have you been drinking, Robert? I might have to try it, too ;-)

I don't have specificstrap photos but that's not what's important as it can be changed, the buckle is a deployant and look at Doc's post above on the buckles.

thank you for the was very helpful. you have a beautiful watch! one last question, does the maltese cross buckle come only in the deployant style, or does it come with the good ol'hole in the knob too?
