How to wind your Vacheron Constantin watch

Can someone explain how to best care for your watch.  I have been told that you can not wind it too fast or too many times.  I have been told that you can not change the date in the mornings.  That you can not reset the time between 6am and noon.  Please advise.
I assume that you are referring to a manual wind: you've had bad info

you need to wind your watch whenever necessary, that means once a day or every other day depending on power reserve, you can set time whenever you want and don't change date between 9AM and 1PM because that's about when the gears and levers which change the date set themselves up.

don't change date between 9AM and 1PM (?)

Hi Alex, Now I am confused too. I thought we were supposed to avoid changing the date at night between 8PM to 3AM (or particularly between 9PM to 1AM) because that is when the date change operation occurs. Kazumidevil
um I'm not getting my AM/PMs straight you're right its the other way!

SO if I dont wear it for a week, pick it up in the morning and the power died with the time set to 9pm, I should not change the date? Pickup dead watch that shows 9pm set time of watch wind watch to full power with 20 turns of my hand set date the next day outside of the 8pm to 3am time period shown on the watch?
