Thats true, Miki. But some people just don't get it with a simple response.  Ignorance (lack of knowledge) is unfortunate that it prevents some people from seeing the obvious. They also are too lazy or self-obsessed that they will not do the due diligence to check their watch and simply look for a quick affirmation that their "precious little heirloom" is genuine. Tant pire! Tough luck for them! I think its important not to let a scam artist off easily but also to gently convince someone looking for advice that what they have is fake or real. There actually have been a few watches presented here that have been the genuine article. In any case, it does provide a little entertainment and is a challenge on how to tell someone that their abominable piece of shit of a bad fake is "unfortunately not a genuine Vacheron" Regards, Joseph
LOL !! That was words and finished by that :-)

but you are right that a debate isn't necessary . OTOH, it may help the occasional visitor to the Lounge recognize these typical scams.  Reminds me a bit of Shady Joe's guide to spotting fakes...run from anything with fuzzy pictures (well, Alex's recent teaser exempted), convoluted stories and uncertain histories.
