I love the & ! And I'm sure it will return!

Since 1819 when Vacheron brought in a new partner, Constantin,

as half owner of the company, it has been named,

Vacheron & Constantin.

I made an illustration to this,

by going through some of my "old" watches,

and they don't even have to be elder than 1970's in some cases,

still carrying the & I love the & ! And I'm sure it will return!

I like it as well....

It shows that it was a two persons thing and the "&" gives credit to both of them.

I'm not sure many people noticed this when I first put it up...

the rotor of the new Chronometre Royal (to be unveiled soon):

As Jérôme says the & between the name of the 2 founders truly shows the human factor

That "&" looks right at home in there...

Hello Alex "&" Doc  (should I apply for the trademark?)

I didn't notice that in your earlier post, but the but that old "V & C" moniker should fit well with the theme of the Chronometre Royal LE's design, right Alex.   Maybe I'll ask my "friends" to show me pics of the LE again.  Just to refresh my memory.

Its good to see VC (or should I say V&C) having more fun nowadays.

Keep wishing Doc.  Your dream might come sooner than you think.

Hi Doc,

Great examples of the use of the "&" between Vacheron and Constantin.  Its wonderful to see it on so many of your watches.  I think it might be nice if they started using the "&" on some new Historique watches.

Best regards,

Dino

I agree with you Dino the & would definately look at home on the

Historique models.

With that in mind...

can we expect some new Historiqe models in the near future?  I hope so, even if they do not include the "&" they are always one of my favorite designs.

Best regards,

Dino

I don't think that I will be breaking any secrets if I confirmed that

the Historique model rage will see new additions in the future.

Thats good new for me...

Thanks Alex,

Its good to know that my favorite line of Vacherons will have some new additions in the future.

Best regards,

Dino

Will VC introduce new additions to the Toledo model range. Are there new concepts for the Historique collection?
The Toledo models are pretty much complete at least in the

triple date format, there may be a time only in the pipes but nothing for the medium term.

The Historique models will evolve and grow in time, the next addition being the Chronometre Royal

Once again, to paraphrase Shakespeare:

O Ampersand, Ampersand!

Wherefore art thou, Ampersand?

Deny thy conjunction and refuse thy name!

Dear Doc, what a terrific post!

I may not have been a member of this forum for long but let me express my admiration to your creativity (you inspire so many interesting discussions) and vast knowledge of the VC brand in general (you share so much valuable information with us less experienced Vacheron fans). As Alex said in one of his earlier posts - you are an asset to this site. Wow, what a collection of vintage VC's! And most of all, I believe the& was removed from the VC logo simply because of modern design in recent years. Still I agree, it has not been forgotten by VC design dept. and will return in various models. It is part of the VC heritage and only heritage is the true foundation for the future developments.
Thanks all aficiondos and & :-)
