I would appreciate some information re a VC timepiece

Dear loungers,

A good friend of mine found recently this magnificent VC timepiece among his late father's personal belongings. I would appreciate if someone could give us information about the type of model, the year, and how to find out about the approximate value of this automatic chronograph.

Thank you all in advance!

Thanks for the material. I read it - very helpful information.  But still - could you please give me more hints? Is the "Chronograph Automatic" on the dial the sign indicating it's fake? And there's never been such model in VC history?  Thanks again!

everything about this watch is fake, just trust the specialists on

Your help is much appreciated.
Best advice is to take it to an official dealer...

We called our local authorized retailer over the phone but I have the feeling they didn't handle our request the right way. They didn't even want to look at the watch. They asked for the certificate and apparently we didn't have one. My friend's father passed away years ago. I read about the certification process on VC's web site. Since there is no point to travel to Switzerland just to find out it's a fake watch (not even a replica) we decided to seek information on this forum. Thanks!

you will never see in a Vacheron, such a movement and the mix of gold (plated) and steel that holds the saphyr back...
