priceless ? It is obviously a recased pocket watch, I'm not sure that the dial is original as it is too crisp. The movement is not signed nor does it have a number so I'm not even sure that the watch is really a Vacheron Constantin. I'm sorry if I'm spoiling the party but in any event its a nice gift given to you by your gilfriend so it does have sentimental value

If you don't mind a second opinion, I think Alex is right on both counts.  The dial has a few characteristics that indicate it is not original.  Notice the bluish tint to the numerals?  The original enamel work was vivid black.  Also, the Vacheron & Constantin fonts are quite large when the original style was very delicate in this area.  As far as the movement goes, it has the style of a typical Swiss movement from 1890 or thereabouts but as Alex said there is nothing to indicate Vacheron.  Even without the expected markings, I'd say the shape of the center bridge and regulator is not of Vacheron design. Anyone else have some thoughts?

the pocket watch are not the dial and movement of the recased pocket watch. I do not understand how the brand name and caliber numbers do not appear in the wrist modification.  All I can do is repeat what others have said this watch is at the best just a recased VC pocket watch and at the worst a recased pocket watch of unknown origin.
