The inheritance !

If you look at the lugs of the Malte collection, they are quite special.

The inheritance !

One of my latest aquisitions, is a watch from the 40's,

look at the lugs.

The first thing Alex said when he saw this watch was:

"Now I know where they got the Malte lugs from !"

The inheritance !

Yes, there they are, a little smoother, but definitely the lugs that preceded the Malte lugs :-)

Its even more obvious if you look at the Malte Tonneau

All brands put attention on dial and case but the lugs can make or break a watch IMHO.

how about the lugs of the retro 245

many people think it belongs to the Malte series but in fact it is the Patrimony

The retrograde date model's lugs remind me more of a pumped up version

of the one of the Mercator

Which I think takes it's design cue from the vintage REf 4735...

Do you have one tucked away at the Maison that you could photograph for us? I only have a catalog picture. Bill
Hi Bill !

I know that you have been searching for the 4735,

and I looked through what I have, but can't find any pic,

sorry (-:

This watch is awfull :-)

Nice pic.

Hello Victor!

Funny I noticed those lugs, and still I have been looking for the "skeleton" version,

REf. 47247 for many years !

Amazing !

Thanks, for showing :-)

NEVER noticed, of course, sorry :-) (nt)

I LOVE the 247. Got to see one last week end at a
05/24/2007 - 01:02

2nd hand store and the seller almost had to tear it off my wrist!!!

this is (yet another) lousy picture I had taken of the watch at its launch at SIHH 2002.

And why didn't we buy one then?
05/24/2007 - 01:10

This is for sure one good investment in a real short time!

And we were advertising for buying one at the same time, rember?

Its not a question of will but of

funds :-)

There was already a client who had an option on the watch (and it had not even put in the window yet)!!!

I remember the first time I saw of picture of this one
05/24/2007 - 13:04

I did not believe what I saw !

arggg. Next night will be full of nightmares !

Again an other proof why I love VC.

Right Deniz!
05/24/2007 - 15:16

That's typical VC.

To dare !

To dare showing "the ugly side" of the movement,

which is normally on this kind of watches, hidden under the dial.

The effect is just amazing, and that's what I admire at VC,

to come to think of it.

Wonderful :-)

Love to see you take some pics of one!
