I saw this the other day. Nice use of diamond as markers...

does not seem obvious that they are diamonds unless told.

What is the retail on this?

Very clean dial (without Pt950) ;-)).

Extremely pure and elegant. I like this new version more.

Congratulations VC.

What was the reaction of the Patrimony Contemporaine?
11/10/2014 - 10:09

was she's not furious?

This is not an Excellence Platine so she was

OK with it cheeky

Vey cool, I think it may be my favorite version of this the 2 hand Patrimony

41mm, cal. 1120, and very sublte diamond hour markers!  yesheart  Very cool!

Dan I agree with your sentiments. I think

this watch is primarily about the Calibre 1120 movement more than anything else.  The reguar PG version is expensive enough; this being in PT with diamond hour markers will be very expensive I am sure.

Maybe its me, but among the time only Traditionelle's, I much prefer the Traditionelle Manual Wind, whether in PG / WG / PT version. And I think that the simple time only Patrimony powered by Calibre 1400 is drop dead gorgeous.  It may have a simpler movement and no transparent caseback, but it has a beauty and presence that far trumps this Traditionelle automatic.  And I am really looking forward to seeing the version with new slate grey dial launched at WoW.  Just my humble opinion.

I agree with you KK

For a 3-hand watch, the Traditionelle Manual Wind is my favorite, in particular the platinum with grey dial and cal 4400.

For a -2-hand watch, the cal 1120 leads me to prefer this new offering that you just saw in Singapore.  :-)

Sorry Alex and VC...I have to stop calling this Patrimony, when it is Traditionelle

Old habits are tough to change, my bad :-(

This is really nicely done....

and I like how VC reached back into the catalog for inspiration to put diamond hour markers on its platinum cased watches, which was done quite a lot in the 40's and 50's.

The understated elegance of the baguette cut diamond markers is simply stunning.

Typical VC. elegant and understated. when are going to a black dial with white metal?

I think drkk is calling you out, Alex.

Mr. "I don't generally like black dial with white metal on a dress watch".

Thanks a lot.

This is a lovely piece with a vintage feel to the dial, and a true collectible.

A parlor game I play with others.....
11/13/2014 - 18:48

is to state the base model of a Vacheron Constnatin (in this case the rose gold Traditionnelle with caliber 1120) and its price. I then ask a person to guess the price if  modifications are made: make the case platinum and add 12 baguette diamond hour markers. No one EVER goes over  the retail value, even knowing that the watch will be markedly more than the base reference.
