Happy new year, BTW

I have a close friend married to a chinese woman, and their baby boy,

living in Singapore, and his parents are there now for a months stay,

and they sent New Year greetings yesterday

It's obvious the Rat's year ?

Normally his parents are my closest neighbours,

and I can now, as I'm writing,

just barely see their house through the trees

Have a good time (!)

Happy New Year......Hi Rei

Thanks for the picture, Rei.  Hopefully, I will be able to join you and Alex by April.

I am delaying my decision till I see what VC is offering this year.  If nothing new catches my fancy, I will make my final decision (boutique or regular Contemporaine).  As there are no boutiques here in Japan, I will have to look for one abroad.

I hope the year of the rat brings much happiness and prosperity to everyone.

Gong Xi Fat Choi!

Happy New Years.

Kazumi san, ganbatte ne!

Greetings from Beijing on the Lunar New Year!
02/06/2008 - 18:14

I'm in Beijing with my wife's family for the holiday.  Good news and Bad news.

Bad News: A couple of hours ago I was just hit by a firework projectile that went horizontal instead of vertical.  The couple that set it off originally admitted to it but balked at compensating for the damage to my clothes.  When the police arrived, the couple then denied they were the ones to throw it on the ground - which is why it flew horizontally.  There were no 3rd party eyewitnesses - just family members from both sides that turns it into a "he said / she said" situation.

Good News:  The firework did not go off when it hit me, it went off a second or two after falling to the ground.  I luckily had some sense to run from it and cover my ears before it went off 3 meters away.  Nobody was physically hurt.

It's both my mother's and my father-in-law's Year of the Mouse/Rat.  I think some of their luck rubbed off on me.

BR, Dan

thank God you were not hurt and that the damages are only
