I've finally bought a macro lense :-)

I had been wanting to buy a macro lense for my camera for a while, but never got around to doing it...
I guess the arrival of my son was enough motivation to go to the shop and finally get one!

I plan to take a few pics of my VC - not sure when I'll find time to do it properly though... In the meantime, here are my first few macro shots...

the ever beautiful moonphase...I've finally bought a macro lense :-)I've finally bought a macro lense :-)I've finally bought a macro lense :-)I've finally bought a macro lense :-)

What grabbed me in your pix is the way the detailed graining on the sandblasted dial of your 47212 shows... beautiful. Thanks. BTW, how's Olivier doing?
Thanks Radek for the comments

Bring your lens to Singapore Francois and the QDI awaits. :-) (nt)

Be careful Duncan, you're going to insult your friend Tay!

My lense is no match for his... Having said that, I would be very happy to fly to Singapore and share a nice meal with you... And if I don't get the chance to come soon, then I guess I'll have to get my own QdI to shoot Cheers,  Francois
While it would be great to meet you Francois...

I think the idea of you getting a Quai de l'Ile is a much better one.  However, I am sure that we will meet someday and can share a delicious meal and some fantastic watches. Cheers, Duncan (Awake at 4 am without the feeding and diaper issues )   P.S. Hope all is going well at home with the new baby.

Really beautiful pictures. I really like the second one of the Malte Cross. You should associate with Doc for THE BOOK; he would write and you would get to take pictures of all VC watches
Merci Natacha

I am pleased by your compliments, but Deniz is the Chosen One to do the Book with Doc... Go check out his website and you'll understand... http://www.phase-de-lune.net/ Cheers,  Francois

Amazing pictures indeed...

I haven't had time to have a look at all the pictures but I will make sure to take some time to go over all those great photos. Thanks for the link.

I've put in practice a few of your tips... but I still have a lot to learn
ouch!!!! that's one main reason I never hold my wife's hand or is it
10/21/2008 - 19:51
that she doesn't want to hold mine?
Yes, Ouch!!!
10/21/2008 - 22:16
I still hold my wife's hand, but since the accident only with my right hand
Very nice François, what is your camera? (nt)

You just love tormenting me...

With even better scans of "That Watch"! Truely the moonphase to die for. Lovin'it, Miki
Can't agree more on the moonphase
10/23/2008 - 12:10
when I think about it, I really am obsessed by it, which is kinda scary. At least, I can enjoy it Yes, Miki, I do love tormenting you - it's my way of getting back at you for having a Superbowl ring from one of the best ever NFL teams (when you time, it would be great to have a little photo of it)... Ich bin very envious/jealous Cheers,  Francois
this moonphase ....

is absolutely exceptionnal ! When I began watches pictures in 2000, I made it as a goal. 5 years after, dream became true. Now, this moonphase is of course my logo ! Thank's again to Edouard Genton, who gave me for few hours three absolutely splendid watches. Hard to do macro pictures ! Use natural light to begin, and of course a tripot.  It's honnestly the easiest way to have a good balance of colours. I'm waiting for new shots, have great fun ! Deniz
Thanks for the tips Deniz

I have bought myself a tripod, but I need to take it out of its box...  As you say, it will make it a lot easier to get good, clear shots Cheers,  Francois
