Just a taste of the Rolls Royce, V&C event in

Carmel Valley.
I am sad to say that my original report was lost in the ether, evidently when some IT work was being done on THL.

I  do have a few shots that I will share with comments but would like to first thank Hugues de Pins and David Archibald for co-hosting an event that was described as "simply over the top."
Welcomed by watches (there were several displays and a great box of movements that could be examined, none of those pictures made it sadly)

We were then invited into the kitchen to view the food preparation and have a few words with our chef, Thomas Keller.

These tasty bites were simply amazing, The salmon tartare presented like an ice cream on a crispy cone with cheese filling was my favorite,
I had to taste five to be sure!

The Maestro, Chef Keller overseaing and working the kitchen, a symphony of food for certain.

We moved out to the dining area and were treated with more wine and a view of the Pacific, rare for August, there was also a nice Rolls waiting
for pictures and visits.

Yes, that is an infinity pool, the compliment of water near and far was a great frame for the Rolls Royce.

The rest of the evening then moved on seamlessly to the presentation of the dinner by David Archibald of Rolls Royce, our own Hugues de Pins of V&C and Chef Thomas Keller of The French Laundry. The picture of David gives you the best flavor of the evening with the sun setting on the villa and the
guests warm feelings of this spectacular, yet gracious event.  Many new friends were made and existing relations enjoyed, it was just a blast.
The staff did a remarkable job, leaving nothing to chance and promoting an extremely fun atmosphere.

Thanks again to everyone that made this a very memorable event and proff positive that car and watch collectors can have a great time together.

Best to you all,

Tim

on the western end of Carmel valley, just south of all the preparations at Pebble Beach. There are several car events over the week and weekend; races, auctions, competitions for vintage automobiles, lots of food, wine and fun. The weather was just perfect this year, often you need a thick coat due to the fog! Take care, Tim
A feast for the senses! Looks like a great event, thanks for sharing:-

There were many people asking about you and

the food missed you too! It was spectacular. Best, Tim

What a marvellous occasion, Tim  -  good company, good food, great watches and a Roller thrown-inyes VC Watches are, quite clearly, a wonderful vehicle for having fun! Thanks for the photographs and the copy to underpin this super day. Warm wishes Tony
Hi Tony, I knew you would like the Rolls Royce

shot by the ocean. It was one of the best August nights I have ever experienced in the Carmel area, lots of sunburn the next day--but what an excuse   to indulge! This is just a picture from the car park, none of these were even in the viewing area. What a day. Best, Tim
Hey, where's the Prius??

I am looking at the pictures while stuck in Beijing traffic...in my bright red Honda Fit, cheeky
Hi Dan, at least you got the color right! This was

the only traffic jam in Carmel. There was a rally of Cobras on the way to the track! This red one would look good in Beijing too. It was a great weekend. Tim
What a coincidence!

The fifth car back in the line (the Titanium 599 you can see between the red and silver cars in the back) is mine!  The car park was indeed a highlight... Best, Gary
