Just took it out of the safe. Beautiful watch indeed!

Just took it out of the safe. Beautiful watch indeed!
Sorry if the crappy pic.
Even if not perfectly focused, she is a BEAUTY Rei!

I bet she is screaming at you to take her out more often, my advice:  listen to her! BR, Dan

I am wearing it now. After talking last month to an AD, the price of Malte chrono has gone up by a lot since I bought it that I was scared to wear it any longer so I put it in the safe  But as you can see, it can't last long...I was itching to put it back on my wrist so I thought, "What the hxxl"... I am a happy guy!
it is amazing how these watches explain ......

"absence makes the heart fonder".
Haha indeed! (nt)

I agree

I agree on both counts Rei. That is indeed a crappy pic of a real beauty! ... and I am green with envy. I hope it gets some wrist time before disappearing into the safe again. Cheers! Kazumi

:-) Don't worry it's spent much more time on the wrist than

it has in the safe. It'll be in the rotation again. Thanks!
What a dial!

Wonderful to see how the dial of your modern piece echos the appearance of classic V&C .  Enjoy it in good health!
Yes, sir. And they perfected the technique more & more I guess :D (nt)

Please help this old fool...

Although I have great respect for Patek:  How do you buy one 5070 and not two of these beauties? If you unanimously say "marketing", I'll puke!  As always, wear in good health. Best, Miki
Ah! This is the Q I asked myself too Sir...

Met a big collector once who likes to show off his purchases. He got this Malte chrono in WG, his only VC as he's a big Patek guy. He mentioned that the sub dials in 5070 (although I LOVE the new 5070P due to its pleasant blue dial) are more balanced than this Malte ("too cluttered") and he was thinking of selling the watch. I know he has been eaten by all the fanatism on Patek that he's not making any sense anymore  I mean how can it be since both are using the SAME calibre... Oh well, they buy 5070 for investment they say, I don't care...I buy what I like (and of course what I can afford meaning without those destructive marketing hype!)
I wish I had this to accompany the Malte.

but in RG or WG... ps. Alex, this photo is taken from another site. Please delete if it violates anything. Thanks!

How about this one in a platinum tear-drop case with minute repeater function added?
Even more unattainable! :-(
07/28/2009 - 11:41
The tear drop lugs are distinctive...era of 1940's?
should spend less time in the safe and more time on your wrist:-) (nt)

That's one of the best things,
07/29/2009 - 10:37
with watch collecting. Going to the Bank once a half year and fin a "new" VacheronConstatin, that you nearly forgotten you have! And what a nice one you got there Doc
Thank you Doc! You're right...the advantage of having few watches :D
07/30/2009 - 08:13
Yes and I now have to many and are reducing,
07/30/2009 - 09:55
because as you say, there is a advantage in having fewer watches. As I have it is for me now, I don't even rember all of them! But it will be better after I "cleaned" up a little Cheers Doc
