Hahah! Worldtimer platinum, that's my guess :-)
I share this guess with you. However, that eliminates a Column Wheel from being the item shown in the previous post. That leaves a part of the oscillating weight (assuming it is an automative) or a Tourbillon, if we belive VC would combine those two.
Or, it is none of the prior guesses and is a decorative item on the dial, although this seems unlikely. Would it be possible to fashion a balance wheel to look this way (with Alex having carefully cropped the balancing weights from the photo)? That would be remarkable.
I am going with Platinum World Timer and the Maltese Cross was a careful crop of the osciallating weight! My official guess, until more information is given.
A PT World Time would be the logical choice given these hints.
But that photo of the little Maltese Cross bit looks quite a bit like the part in the Explorers watch that regulates the hour changes.
So here's my wild guess, also given the world map...
It's a new Explorers' watch in platinum but this time it's dedicated to some or all of the astronauts who circumnavigated the globe (world).
How's that for sticking your neck out??Wild...possibly...but likely wrong!
Anyway, that's what it should be!! (LOL)
Alex...Platinum WT seems a logical guess; but then why would you put a hint for an already existing watch just in another metal. And I doubt you will be writing a new book on it.
There is something more to this. And it looks like it is going to be special.
have nothing to do with each other... Or maybe they do:-)
watch this space
Excellent detective (Photoshop) work! LOL
But I would guess that will be for 2016, when the Overseas celebrates its 20-year anniversary.
Alex is writing a book on it means it is something indeed very special.
But Alex's teasers are a bit like the Dan Brown's Angels and Demons where they needed a Harvard professor to decipher them.
As Alex pointed out, this post may have nothing to do with the book, or on the other hand, perhaps he is writing a book about the world time movement.
or movement worthy of Alex penning a book??? I do not think so.
I agree with you that the book might be on something else. Don't expect any teasers because either they are lousy or pure torture. :-)
