A Knight's Moral Dilema

Thank you again for your kind words in regards to my knighthood. Many of you asked what watch I wore or if I got a VC for the ceremony. Here is my dilema: the VC that is on my "goals to achieve" list is the Overseas Auto Date. In Australia, this watch is approximately $9000 AUD. Now for that amount of money, I can provide emergency shelter and bedding for about 300 homeless people!! I cannot justify the cost to myself when money is so short for my work and the need is so great. I believe in Alex's saying: "It's not a crime to be good to yourself" and I don't envy anyone who is or those who own VC's. It's just that my psyche is wired to service to humanity with everything I can. The only watch I own, my Doxa Seahunter, was won in a National Geographic Magazine contest and given to me as a present!

So the Doxa was worn proudly and joyously. Afterall, it's a fine watch and you don't see many(any?) orange face dive watches at an investiture ceremony!! This also is a reflection on my "go my own way and who cares what anyone thinks" personality.

I have sent my "VC wish" out to the Cosmos.......let's see what lands on my wrist!

Your comments graciously welcomed and accepted.

KIndest regards. Gary
