A late summer...

I'll be abandoning my friends here at the Lounge for a few days, heading back to the mountains for more peaks.  Our summer was very late this year, with too much rain and lingering snow up high.  Last week was actually our first climb of the year!  Here are a few pics from my friend's camera...

A late summer...
The mountains were ablaze with wild flowers.  This picture was actually taken on our way down, as the flowers are tightly closed early in the morning to hoard their precious water.

A late summer...
Not too often you are allowed to get above a herd of Rocky Mountain Sheep.  While they may look casual, the largest males always managed to place themselves between us and their precious ewes

A late summer...
The summit with stunning views of surrounding lakes and mountains.  Looking around, we recounted many of our hiking and climbing trips in the area.  A place of ultimate bliss heart

I am glad you had a great time on your adventures into beautiful nature. Of course, I have to ask the question. Did any VC's make the trips along with you? Best, Mike
I was actually watchless as I didn't want to harm any of them :-)

We Nothern boys enjoy our (to) short summer weeks smiley You look great Dean, fine shape! I just came out of the shower after my little jogging tour in the wood! You really feel cool so cool at that moment! I been running my whole life,  I once read a famous marathon runner saying : 'I can honestly say, that I never have enjoyed the running as such, it's the feeling afterwards!' I agree 100% ! Sailing, hunting or downhill is fun during the acion, but never running laugh Thanks for nice pics, the best with you in the front! Doc
