The history of VC and JLC are very closely tied from 1938 to

mid 90s. For those who have the "Secrets of Vacheron Constantin" the begining of the relqtuionship is very erll explained on pages 139-145. It all started in 1938 when a VC employee decides to move to Italy and become an agent for JLC and VC if the latter accepted. Fron what was to be only an agency agreement the shareholders of JLC and VC decided in a partnership where shares were exchanged and a joint company was set up: SAPIC (Société Anonyme de Produits Industriels et Commerciaux). At the time JLC was a flourishing business and they provided VC with both technical and commercial aid, one of the obligations resulting from the partnership was VC being obliged to source movements only from JLC. During the years Georges Ketterer who was marketing director of JLC started buying VC shares directly and at some point (dates are not quite clear here) ended with almost 90% of VC shares which the family ended up selling to the Saudi Oil Minister in 1986 Cheik Yamani.

Thank you for information.

I have certificate of my watch VC, but in my opinion it has written out by Jaeger Lecoultre. I would like to learn why? Cheers Zbyszek

I don't see any indication that the certificate was given by JLC what
