Lemania based chrono

I just read from the other watch site that patek will stop producing its lemania based chronographs (5970 I think as 3970/5004 already discontinued) from 2009. What will happen to Malte chrono that uses the same mov't base? Will it stay?or discontinued as well? It's not 100% confirmed but the moderator has confirmed this news. Thanks.

Missed 5070. So both 5070 & 5970 will be gone soon.

Wish the could make WG malte chrono with black guilloche dial...oh WOW! What a watch that would be!

Let me let you on a little secret

VC is currently working on its in house chronograph movement which from what I hear will be amazing. Should be launched by 2009!

Ah hah! So I guess it's the same for VC.

2009 will be the arrival of new in house VC chrono

Patek has done it with the launch of 5960, AP has done it with ROO volcano, VC is next...

What do you think will happen to the present Malte chrono Alex?

If I'm not mistaken the AP ROO Volcano is of a modular

construction. VC's inhouse chrono movement is fully intergrated.

I would guess...and this is only a wild guess...that the Malte chronograph shall cease production and the new chronograph be introduced in a Patromony case (either Contemporaine or Traditionnelle).

BTW is the photo in your avatar the Makte Chrono in rose gold?

You're right Sir, AP's new chrono is a modular one,

not integrated type. But they are asking very high price for it

I heard about the rumour on cease of production of Malte chrono sometime ago but couldn't verify it...that they would have problems sourcing the movement...something like that.

My Malte chrono is RG version, at first I thought the WG would look too pale...but lately it looks quite good

This watch a very nice watch, I am loving it everytime I wear it.

I like guilloché dials on rose gold cases, brings out the dial

in a very nice manner.

How about a scan?

I'll try to get one.

I have never taken a decent pic of my watches and post...am a bit "stupid" with this. But I'll try. The watch is in a bank's safe at the moment.

looking forward (nt)
