London Dinner November 19th 2008

Dear Fellow Hour Loungers!

I have a few pics from the recent London Hour Lounge/VC Dinner held at Morton's in Berkeley Square. Thank you to Alex and the VC team for putting on such a fantastic event for us!

While I was not personally able to attend the event, I was told by my girlfriend Ruby that it was a wonderful event - lasting until the wee hours of the morning!  Following some mingling and chit chat with VC staff and Loungers, dinner was served - a set menu consisting of beautifully presented (and of course tasting) tuna (entree), lamb (main) and dessert.  Ruby remarked how she had not tasted such wonderful lamb in her life before!

The dinner was followed by a detailed presentation by Christian Selmoni (the head of product development at VC) about the origins and production process of the QDL.  This was followed by an opportunity to view firsthand the new collections, as well as the latest Historiques American 1921.

I understand Francoise was on hand taking additional photos of the evening - I look forward to seeing some of them soon!

Thank you again to Alex and the Vacheron Constantin team for organising such a fantastic time for all.  I hope to join you at a future event...maybe in New Zealand?  After all, they say it is the Switzerland of the South Pacific!

Best regards

I agree, Alex. Its a stunner. I'm usually all that fond of gold watches with gold bracelets, but that one does definitely work. Now, where's my piggy-bank??? Joseph

I'm tettering!  Just a little push and I'm gone.   We'll see this week.  Was it gorgeous in person?  something you would wear? I fear I'm going over the edge!  Thanks for your encouragement. All the best, Tom

this baby is meant for you... I would definitely wear that watch, it is a true beauty! It fit my wrist really well, it had an impressive weight (which I really like), and it looked so nice Stop fighting the urges, Tom, and go on and treat yourself to a little something nice
It was a fun evening and I'm glad that Ruby didn't find us watch nuts

Looks like it was an enjoyable evening and the picture of Ruby with Alex shows them both appreciating the fine VC timepieces. Always good to see Christian and he is definitely racking up the frequent flyer miles.  We look forward to welcoming him to Asia this week and I hope to bring you reports of his visit and some planned activities. Cheers, Duncan
