Malte Tonneau Chronograph (Royal Eagle) U.S. Limited Edition

I am a big fan and owner of Royal Eagle Chronograph (black dial + brown strap).

But this color combo beats them all.

I like the red stitching on the strap as well as red figures on the totalizers as well as the red chrono seconds

hand.

US has gotten two cool VC 'sports' LEs lately: Overses Chrono and this. What a treat!

This is a very good looking combination>>>

and adds a great deal of gravity to the line. I have been a proud owner of the Royal Eagle for two years and find it to be a comfortable and extremely useful watch. I do use it as a chrono and it has done a flawless job for me over the two years. It is sadly talked down my some collectors since it is not an in house movement(my year anyway) and some people do not like the style, but it has been a great watch and I applaud V&C for this version. Congratulations. Tim

Hello Radek.

It is a cool watch. How many pieces was this watch produced for US?

I'm not a huge fan of the Malte tonneau models but this one is a winner! Love the color combo.

WOW

I didn't see for my previous post... The dial is not black but dark red/brown / chocolate ... so I changed opinion !! I love it now

Thanks for sharing Radek...

... I am not fan at all of the red stitching on the brown strap of this Malte Tonneau Chronograph, I would prefer this combo on the Overseas. But the dial is marvelous

Tastes and colors

This is a rare beast! Even more elusive as it was not publisized!!

Launched at about the same time as the US limited edition Overseas in late 2007 it exists in 100 pieces in steel and 30 in rose gold.

I like the color combination alot and a VC with a chocolate dial and red markers isn't something you see very often. The Malte Tonneau (as it is now called) was always a bit strange to me (no offense to those who like and or own a model) but I found that VC was trying something new with the case but had kept highly conservative dials, it seemed to me that they were not going all the way.

However when the Malte Tonneau models had a face lift and the printed numerlas on the dial were replaced by applied numerals I found the change refreshing and much nicer. Each rule has its exception and I really like the chrono especially in steel with the grey dial.

This US edition is one I wouldn't mind strapping on my wrist

Any scans of the rose gold model?
