Montblanc Pour Vacheron Constantin.

“This exclusive Montblanc writing instrument has been developed especially for Vacheron Constantin and produced in limited numbers only. The special design features the Vacheron trademark in precious resin, combined with stainless steel and a platinised 18 carat gold nib. The nib has been specially engraved for Vacheron Constantin and is hand-crafted. The nib with "M" which Montblanc has chosen for your fountain pen is suitable for all types of handwriting and will therefore be compatible with your own personal writing style. This exclusive writing instrument is one of a unique series, and lends a very special emphasis to the personality of its owner.”

The text above is from the "International Service Certificate" book for "Montblanc Pour Vacheron Constantin". Every page in the book has a background with the Maltese cross design similar to that on the pen on the black parts. It came in a wonderful wooden box with an engraved metal plate inside the box with the following text "Montblanc Pour Vacheron Constantin".

What a super prize. Thanks to Vacheron Constantin for making the competition where this pen was one of the three prizes. This is the link to the competition if you missed it:

I was the lucky winner and while waiting I realised that I wasn’t able to see the intriguing details on the pen, so I have taken three photos where it's possible to see some of the details close up.

A huge thanks from here for making The Hour Lounge the best watch site on the net.

Cheers, Kent

I am so happy for you to have won such a great prize.  I would love to own one myself someday, so I hope there are more contests in the future!  Otherwise, I do not know if there is any other way to obtain one. Enjoy your pen!
First competition I have ever won so it feels good.

While waiting for the pen I studied "pens" a bit. Surfing around here at THL showed med once again that you never seem to be collecting in a half hearted way. If your pens are an indication of your taste concerning artists. Then this is the tip of the day. I have been a Menuhin fan for many years and one of my favorite recordings with him is the Elgar violin concerto, conducted by Elgar,  with a Menuhin only 16 years old, recorded in 1932. Other recommendations but more known to the public is the recordings with Furtwängler and Menuhin. If you also like Casals style of cello playing and would like to hear him play with Menuhin then there is a cd collection called "Casals Festivals at Prades volume 2" with live recordings from 1953 to 1959. The recording of the Brahms trio in B, Op 8 on one of the cd's is wonderful.   I wish you a pleasant sunday. Kent
Re: Thanksyou so much for the recommendastions, Kent.

I will definitely check out the early Elgar with Menuhin. The otherMB  pen sets I have are the Leonard Bernstein and Georg Solti both of whom I admire greatly. I believe there was a von Karagan set but I passed on that one. Fortunately while I was a college student (and could get student prices) I did have an opportunity to hear some great performers, Rubenstein, Gilels, Kempf, Szell conducting the Cleveland Orchestra and even the young Ashkenazi and Perlman on their first tour performing the Beethoven sonatas. I still have a pretty large vinyl collection. But I'm rambling on a bit. Warm regards, Joseph
VERY HAPPY for you Kent!

It's quite okay to be a bit jealous. Looking at the watch you presented in the "Greek Sigma" thread I had that feeling two. Gorgeous watch.   With regards, Kent
We could see your pleasure.

I'm so pleased with that you say you can see my pleasure for the pen in the photos. I never take photos of anything else than my watches so I was a bit afraid of that I wouldn't present the pen in a proper way. Looking forward to more photos of your special made Toledo.   Cheers Kent
Now we can be pen pals ;-)

Congratulations!
04/20/2014 - 05:51
That is one very special VC. I am also very happy for you. I have never before seen the detail of the engravings on the nib. Your photos are terrific and eye opening. This will be a very nice memento of the THL community for years to come. Best, respo
Thanks Robert.
04/20/2014 - 15:55
I believe except for the tip of the pen that your model is similar. Such wonderful details and it is made so elegant. Looking at the pen as a hole the eyes don't see all the little details and therefore for me it was a bit suprising to realise the wealth of details when examining the pen more closely. Ahhh that was hard writing. I hope you have an idea about what I tried to say. Sometimes I really hate the english language.   Cheers Kent
Nice!
04/20/2014 - 09:36
Ill make a bold statement and say this may be the nicest pen i've ever seen.
I like it two, Sassicaia.
