Muse Pad Doubles as Watch Photo Backdrop

I got my Vacheron Constantin mousepad today, and immediately put it to work as a backdrop for my watch pictures. I also set it up in my photo tent and used it the same way, but I had one of my watches upside down and so will have to re-take them and post them later.

Anyway, here are my Overseas 1 and 1972 Asymmetric on my new mousepad:

My pad will soon be sploched with ink since my mousepad doubles as my note-writing pad. My Patek, AP and JLC didn't get included...just didn't seem right on a VC mousepad.

With or without the VC mouse pad. Sounds like a great lineup. We've seen the Patek alone, but the whole family in a group shot would be great! (If you're taking requests.) Did you ever get a travel case for the cruise?

Got the travel case

I did get the travel case, but I think I got the wrong one. Instead of having individual pillows, mine has one big long pillow. (It's like flying in coach...on a discount airline!) I'll get them all together for a case photo. (Also got a winder for my AP and an old ETA that I can wear in high-mugger areas.)

JTodd,

As you requested here's the whole family:

On the Vacheron Constantin Mousepad:

In their case

After seeing a very nice case, I realized mine could use an ungrade, but for now it'll do.

Travel case

This is the crew we're taking on the cruise this summer. All except the Audermars Piguet day/date/moonphase are going. I debated the 1972 or Calatrava, and decided to take both. I don't go to too many formal occasions, and apparently there will be plenty. Most of the time I'll have on the Oversease and my wife, her Reverso.

Would love to see the whole family

Winder

My AP and ETA seem to ride the winder the most. I should use my moonphase more, but I'm not quite sure how to sequence it it. The ETA (Raymond Weil) is a good one for risky business...

So, JTodd, that's it. The only other watch I'm remotely interested in right now is the new Overseas, and that'll take some saving!

Thanks

A great collection. I like the AP. I was so hoping it wasn't going to be the RO. No offense to them, but they are sort of "a dime a dozen" now. I really like yours. A very nice collection of shapes and styles. Thanks for sharing it.

Agreed on the AP RO...

I agree with you about the ROs, and while there are some AP ROs that I like--the stainless steel simple time & date version- they seem to churn out new versions every five minutes! Enough already! I much prefer the Oversease. As far as my choices were concerned, I wanted a moonphase, and I could not find a Vacheron Constantin in my price range, and it came down between a new Jaeger LeCoultre Q1368420 (Master Moonphase) or the pre-owned AP. I decided on the AP because it also included the day-date functions and the JLC did not.

However, I was able to get several different versions of JLC's moonphase with a free App at the JLC site. It goes right on my iPhone, and I can set the moonphase on my AP with the digital version of the JLCs.

Agreed on the AP RO...

iPhone Jaeger LeCoultre Moonphase (One of serveral versions in the app.)

Here is the link to the free app from Jaeger LeCoultre: a moonphase for the iPhone. The Audemars Piguet Day/Date Moonphase is relatively small and the moonphase has to be angled just right to see it clearly on my wrist. But with my big iPhone moonphase, it's clear and easy to see and set.

I think you made the right choice

Once you have a Patek and a Vacheron, getting an AP to round out the trinity makes all the sense in the world, from my perspective.  I think they one you pocked is great.  I can see that our tastes align pretty nicely.

looking good!

After Alex's moutain snow backdrop, I realized that not just any backdrop for Vacheron Constantin watches would do. It will be the Baltic and some onion-domed buildings (I hope!).
