My father's Vacheron

My father's VacheronMy father's VacheronMy parents were honeymooning in Europe around 1949-1950 and got this Vacheron circa Jan-Feb 1950 at the factory. I plan to give it to my son for his 22nd birthday and hopefully he and his future heir will carry it another 62 years!

Sorry guys, I'm a computer illiterate, when I went to college, none of this technology existed, so let me upload the inside of the case for the case number.
That's a fantastique heirloom...and in pristine condition. You will

Hi Alex,   My son will be 22 years in April and is barely graduating from Santa Clara University in June. He knows enough  about Vacheron to know how unique the watch is.  He's looking forward to it.  Since the case# is 299651-24 and the movement # is 471560, caliber 458, do we know when the watch was made? Also, how many about were made with this with this case and dial??  I call it the Vacheron tank watch as the lugs make it look like the side of a tank, more so than the Cartier Tank. To conclude, the watch was sent to Geneva Vacheron for a complete overhaul so the movement is tip top.
Ref 4409 from 1948 I don't have

Thanks tic-talk, that explains a lot.  The watch is now 64 years old, dimentions are 20x20 38 lug to lug and appears to be 8mm thick. So sits on the wrist pretty large.
umm I know that Dean is the vintage man but I'm Alex :-)
