My first Vacheron Constantin!

Today I received my first VC, a Chronometer Royal!  It is beautiful.  VC is a first class manufacturer in every way.  The package is very nice including the presentation case and documentation.  The C.O.S.C. papers showing the testing results were hand written in a classy caligraphy and have original signatures.  The watch is amazing. I like the way the seconds hand seems to push or forge ahead while other watches look like the second hand is dragging.  In a word it appears energetic.

I also like the way the crown is partially encased on the top and sides and exposed and accessable on the bottom.  Encasing the crown supports it while winding and it is wound with one finger rolling along the exposed bottom. My first Vacheron Constantin!

Quality of fit and finish of the 1907 is outstanding.

My first Vacheron Constantin!

Congratulations Jim its nice to have company

I was told by my AD that Vacheron had scheduled 12 for US distribution, so you are a very lucky fellow. It took me a couple of days before I would even put mine on my wrist. Some have tried to compare it to the Lange anniversary watch but the enamel dial on the Royal is so flat and has no voids/pits which I cannot say the same for the Lange.

Wear it in good health

Loungers .

I'm glad that having bought the watch sight unseen that it has lived up to your expectations. The only problem with buying a VC is that there is no turning back! ou're hooked and you will start looking for another VC...and another...

Wear it in the best of health and thank you for sharing.

BTW do you have scans of the presentation box?

Your 1st but definately not your last, trust me :-) A gorgeous

timepiece which will undoubtedly bring you a huge smile on your face each time you look at it!

Congratulations!! I agree with Alex 100%

Congratulations and thanks for sharing, Jim.

I think it takes a more mature (in the horological sense) watch buff to appreciate the simple enamel dial and case design.  It does not shout "Hey, look at me!", and it takes a trained eye to appreciate the work that has gone into this piece (especially the enamel work which few people can really appreciate or even understand).

As Alex mentioned, most VC first-timers usually get hooked on the brand and, with VC upping the ante every time, my VC wish list just keeps getting longer and longer (if you know of a good bank to rob, or are aware of Alex' house address, please let me know!).

I was also just about to ask if you could post scans of the presentation box but Alex beat me to it (let's just say great minds think alike...).

Anyway, enjoy your new baby and do keep us posted on its performance.

I will post some scans of the presentation box when I return home on Friday.  You are all correct about this not being my last VC.  I am waiting for a Overseas LE US version in late November.  I would love to get the Platinum Perpetual Chrono but the price is.... well maybe, someday.  There are many VC's that I want like a set of Les Masques or more realistic a Malte Chrono and Dual Time....  Ah, so many watches, so little time!

For now I will take great pleasure in my Chronometer Royal!

Thanks for the nice wishes,

Congratulations!! (nt)

More I see this watch, more I like it!!

The first time I saw this Chronomètre Royal, I don't like at all the "12" in red, the way the numbers were written...

But ... my opinion changed LOL

No problem...

Just the first 100 pieces will have a Burgundy red 12 whereas thereafter the 12 will be black like the rest of the numerals.

Congrats Jim, it is a real beauty!!

As I said in a previous post, I really like the simplicity and the class of the model...

This is definitely one I would like to see on my wrist!

And thanks for the pictures...

Thanks everyone!  I have worn the watch for two days now and love it more every day. In part, it was the red 12 and the numbers (along with the enamel dial, RG, movement, design....)that I found so attractive about the watch.
