my first watch of 2011

been longing for this model since I saw it a few years back, ref 4735 from 1951, 38mm rose gold case and the most amazing engine turned dial!

picked it up from a fellow Lounger yesterday and my 1st watch of 2011.

here are some lousy photos taken with my phone but will post a write up and better photos soon

A real beauty and quite large for that era. I really like the face and

nicely done hands. I assume this watch will curb your lug lust for at least a short time ;0). Best to all, Tim
Sweet Lugs!

Absolutely massive lugs and beautiful dial work make it hard to focus on any single attribute of your gorgeous "new" watch.  Looking forward to more pics .  Curious about the alloy - red or pink gold?
prelude to a great year for acquisition, alex....

the first impression has to be the large case size and overhanging curved lugs like the mercator.  show us the sexy side profile that enhances the curves of this sexy lady! the second, the beautiful engine turned dial with such decorations which speaks of art-decor finest. the third, must have been the heart, a cal. p454 geneva sealed or even better p1008/bs? i have been flipping the quarter millenium thematic auction catalog and haven't seen this case. so thanks for introducing this one. are there any other references that feature this case shape in your knowldege? congrats for this great catch and wear in good health.
Beautiful watch Alex but look at page 3

of Bill's copies, of the V&C catalogue for 1950. It's nearly the same watch, at least identical dial, but with other case and lugs. The one you got is more rounded and impressive, you could say that much has happened in one year Sorry, haven't time to scan it now, but you can! Never seen alive or on pic before, but I knew I seen it somewhere. Ref. 4726 is 'Bill's' ! Really congrate you to this lovely watch Doc
Congratulations Alex...

Hi Alex, That was a quick new purchase for the New Year! You have a marvelously varied collection from very classic, vintage pieces to very avant-garde modern ones. I thought I saw a version of this watch in YG before, but never in the WG that you have.  Love the  very unique dial. Great way to start off the new year, congrats! BR, Dan
in fact my watch is RG not WG ;-) I had seen a watch with the same
