My Last of the Year - Probably

This one will require some work and will be making an immediate trip to Switzerland.  I think that most of the work will be external as the dial and hands looked pretty good under the loop.  The movement appeared to be in good shape other than the keyless works which are either loose or slightly damaged,

Sotheby's had no reference number in the description and estimated that it was circa 1937,  The scratched crystal made the condition look much worse than it is, but I was interested nonetheless.  Working with VC I confirmed that the case and movement numbers match their records for a 4241 from 1945.   Examining it in person yesterday it appeared to be in decent condition except for the crystal and the keyless works, but we shall see if it was a wise investment or not when the watchmakers get a hold of it.

Here is a little taste.  When I get it cleaned up I will take some good photos:

That's funny. I ordered htis one the same day at Drouot auctions. Fantastic dial (better than on the photo) , fantastic movement : Happy to share with you !!. Now the question : Mine has a french day and month information. Does the reference change if the language changes ?. Best regards. Patrice.

If this trend continues, we will have our THL watch by default!

It looks great Patrice, congratulations!!! I for one, would defnitely not mind if this really did become the THL watch - it is SO V&C. BR, Dan
As long as all date displays have a quick-set capability

I love those triple calendars in this thread (especially with the teardrop lug) and I agree with your choice as long as the date displays have quick-set capability.  This is my pet peeve with my Toledo.  The lack of a quick-set capability for the day-of-the-week display can be a real pain especially if you have several days worth of adjusting to do!no BTW, is it the same (crown-turning arrangement) for the vintage pieces? BR, Kazumidevil
I agree and will add a remark

There is no pusher to adjust the day as it exist on the left of the case on equivalent Jaeger Lecoultre "Triple quantième" for example. A little bit disapointed for that also. But the case is so nice and heavy !!!. Best regards. Patrice.

Great find.  I am no authority, but believe that yours would be a 4240 based on the shape of the lugs, which are slightly different than the lugs on the 4241 I purchased.  If you have not read Alex's wonderful pieces on the VC Calendars, the links are at the top of the page.
