My "new" piece!!

Hello to all and sorry if my English is not as good as should be...

I am from Spain and collecting watches from some years now. Never had a VC until some days ago which I received one comming from the family. It was a present to a relative of mine in 1970. I really like the watch which is perfect for some occassions and far away from the huge sizes we are getting used to...

I attach a couple of very bad pictures to see if any of you can kindly help me with the model as I have no further information about it. It comes in the original box but with no papers...Any idea of the model, caliber, etc...?

Thanks very much,

My "new" piece!!My "new" piece!!

have the reference number on the back, if not can you please ask a watchmaker to open it for you and give us the case and movement numbers. That way we can check the history

Hola!..and thanks for the welcome and ideas. It has no reference in the back so I will need to open it...well, I will get a professional to do it for me as I am not really an expert in this... I will also get it serviced. The watch is quite in a good external condition but it is not running perfectly well as it "wins" some seconds per hour (dont know the right expression but I am sure you'll understand what I mean). Any suggestion on this? I guess the best will be the official VC service in Spain but I have no experience with VC and had some not so good experiences with other good brands (cost, but more important, 3 or 4 months to get it back for a normal maintenance...). Well, thanks again, Garbie.
The best would be to deposit your watch at VC retailer who will

then send the watch for service. It can take some time though....

Thinks for the warm welcome. Yes, a really nice piece. I already have some other good watches from JLC, IWC, Rolex, etc...but all quite modern. This is really my first vintage and hope not my last VC! I wasnt expecting having a VC but this surprise of getting it from a relative has open the door for me to also find this great forum where I will try to learn from all of you. Regards, Garbie.

I hope you can get a few pictures of the movement and case back for us to see. I love vintage VCs and echo Alex's comments to have VC take a look at it as well as provide a full service maintenance.  It might take a long time, but when you get it, you know for sure it will run like new. Best Regards, Dan
Thanks Dan!

Yes, I will followi your and Alex advise and take it to VC for servicing...although the nearest one is around 350 kilometres from where I live...
Something old leads to something new...

Garbie, Delighted to hear that you now have a VC watch - thank you for the recent photograph of it on it's way to work! Looks really goodyes. You are already sensing the enormous passion and interesting shown by the Loungers (The Hour Lounge).  Please do take this opportunity to make yourself familiar with other VC models both old and new. Best regards, Tony
Yes...that's the problem...

I am already familiar with the new models of VC. Hope you are right and I will give a brother to the old one...
