My New Traditionelle Small Seconds in Platinum

So, one more watch to round out my small VC collection.  I decided to pull the trigger on a Traditionelle Small Seconds in Platinum.  For the 2000's, I really believe the Traditionelle, the Patrimony and the Overseas (2nd Gen) really are iconic pieces, so this is my current trio of VCs.  I also now have a sport watch on a bracelet and two dress watches on leather - one light face, one dark.  I also now have one piece in each of the white metals - SS, WG, and Pt.  Two with inhouse movements (one manual - one automatic), bith Hallmark of Geneva certified.  So, it is the foundation of a collection anyway.  Thanks to everyone here for the inspiration and eductaion.

I will post some better pictures later, but here is a quick wrist shot (designed to make Alex not feel bad about his hairy wrists).

This is one of my very favorites of the modern collection, the grey dial really adds somthing to this watch IMHO, and I like the heft of the PT. case.

Great choice and happy to see it on your wrist!

BR, Dan

Thanks Dan

I really like the look of it too and it is a great example (in my opinion) of simlicity where every detail is prefectly executed and contributes to the whole.

Congratulations. Well done. Please post more pics as well as together

with rest of your collection.

Will definitely post some more pictures

Including with the other pieces.

As promised, some more pictures of my beginning collection

Below are some photos I took of the VC pieces in my collection - so far.  I don't have good lights for this sort of thing and watches ar, of course, very hard to photograph without a good diffuse light source, so please accept my apologies for the poor lighting in these, but I think you can still get some pretty good pictures here.

As promised, here are some pictures of my beginning collection

First, here they are - the trio in white.  (Still hunting for a good VC Minathor, but the generic one will do for now).

More straight on

Here is sa cloer together shot.  I think I subconsciously keep the more "delicate" watches a but further away from the big brute on the right!

As promised, here are some pictures of my beginning collection

Here they are ying on their sides.

And, last but not least, the business end.  While obviously not a transparent case back, I have decided that I hope they always keep the OS with its unique caseback.  I have learned to really like it.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.  I really need to buy a softbox now (right after I find a VC Minathor).

that's quite a collection to begin with!!!!

That's a real beauty. It's my favourite combination for that watch.

Great taste (but I already knew that smiley

Wear it in the best of health.

Thank you Joseph

My wife can attest that I have some some taste - but a horrible lack of it in other areas!  Thankfully, under the tetelage of many here, I like to think I have learned a bit about what to watch out for in a timepiece.  Thank you for your kind wishes.

Superb, what a beautiful version !

Vielen Dank für die gute Wünsche.  Hoffentlich ist alles gut in Bayern!  I always enjoy the opportunity to try out my German.  Another reason to come to SIHH next year, no?

WOW, WOW and WOW! Congrats Jamie, that is one helluva new addition and

hope it will only tick happy moments yes

Thanks Alex.

In addition to aesthetics of the piece itself, I really wanted a calassic manual wind.  I think this 4400 is beautifiul and I don't think there is a piece that shows the 1400.  This one definitely checked all the boxes.  One day my collection will be sufficient that there will be many watches I love that don't fit.  I am not sure whether to look forward to that day or to dread it!
