My other V&C..

Dear all,

Besides my ref 6782Q (aka Thunderbird), I own a very elegant piece with the cal 1072/1 running inside. I bought it some time ago from a fellow Lounger and VC collector, who happens to live in The Netherlands too. I (still) do not know the reference number........never opened the case as it was and is running very accurate. What I like about this example is the shape of the case and the shape of the lugs.

Speaking about accuracy: yesterday I installed the app on my tablet which analysis the precision of a watch. It is pretty straight forward and the only extra is an external plug-in microphone. Next I tested several of my watches and, surprise-surprise, both my V&C examples where the best with about 0.8 sec/day.... :-))

Best,

Mark

Thx Alex and...

...yes, I was amazed by it too. But I checked it several times but still the same figure.;-)  Another watch I own, showed 25 sec/day which is conform the gain I experience when on the wrist. So I take it that the software is OK....;-)

Similar shape to the Ref 7595
07/04/2011 - 18:42

except I can see a difference between the lugs and the 7595 had a caliber 1121.  Most of all, I love your "&".  Please let us know when you discover the reference number!

Antiquorum Photo

Similar indeed..

..and I love those shapes..... Looking at my picture (side view) I wonder if the glass is original or not. Would love to have a more flat, in line with the lines of the case glass. And still looking for an original period buckle for both of them.......they seem to be rare as hen's teeth....

I will keep the Lounge posted about the ref number.

Mark

You got to change your name to LuckClock smiley

Very nice, and never seen by me before.

We just need to have a look inside!

Extra bonus on such 'modern' design is that the name is correct,

& I love that cool

Congrats

Doc

LOL &....

Hey Mark

Nice watch. It fits well on your wrist. The thickness of the watch is interesting as well.

Are you able to take to VC service center to open it? Would be interesting to look at the model number

ref 7397

just had it checked today. See also Dean's response below. Nice picture for comparison purposes.

Dear all, Just returned from a visit to my watchmaker. So after I recovered from drooling over the movement (cal 1072/1) I had a good look at the inside of the caseback. The reference number is 7397. There were numerous service marks which might explain the excellent condition of the movement. Besides the ref number there was another number: 455993. Any idea what that might be ? Best, Mark

Here is a pic from Antiquorum's database of another 7397 in white gold.  In comparison with yours this one has a flat top which yours doesn't appear to have.  Nevertheless, it wouldn't be the first time that slight (or major) variations of style are listed under the same reference...there are at least three case variations for the 6694!

Correct...
07/05/2011 - 22:22

....I just checked mine and there appears to be a line on both sides, see the border between the polished (flat) part en de beveled (polished) edges. So  I thought mine might be polished. However, you are correct: mine is for not as flat as the one in your picture.....

Best,

Mark

Eh, now I feel a bit stupid.....Why ? Well, I did a google search for the ref 7397 and found a link to a post on The Hourlounge, posted by.........me, myself and I.......LOL ! Completely forgot about it and even more: completely forgot about the ref numbers....... Sorry for that !

Guess best I can do now is laughing myself into sleep.

Best,

Mark
