My VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur Anniversary Edition

My VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur Anniversary Edition

I work in a building with lotsa of Pateks and Langes and APs "walking" around, wearing this VC makes me feel like the underdog!!

i love the weight of the watch, the elegance of the design, though the dial can be a bit busy for a 38.5mm watch. i love that its a regulatuer, whilst not the most practical, its not the most frivolous as well. two time zone, second time zone displayed on 9o'clock sub dial by a 24hour hand, adjusted via a button at 11o'clock. date and second displayed by 6o'clock sub counter, date adjusted by pin hole @ 4o'clock. i generally do not like dials featuring roman AND arabic numerals, but VC pulled this one off. also love the swordblade hands. and i am a big fan of the crown with the Malte cross and the Malte series lugs.

its COSC certified, featuring VC Cal 1206 RDT auto movement with 28800vph. if i am not wrong, it is based on a Piguet ebauche 1150. power reserve is 65 hours.

being the anniversary edition, mine features a hunter caseback, and a unique grey dial. i have a soft spot for gray dials, but IMHO, patek slate grey ala 5056P is still the one to beat.

My VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur Anniversary Edition

I'm a sucker for rose gold and slate grey! The Malte Dual time
02/28/2011 - 04:58
regulator seems to be a common favorite amongst Loungers
Yes, this is the best RG/gray dial combo I can find
03/01/2011 - 18:22
The movement whilst finish beautifully, is not exactly ground breaking. The hunter case back is a great idea. However, I still humbly opine Patek's slate gray is still the best, for now. Best, Horo
Love those lugs!!! Almost bought the silver dial myself.

I prefer the Malte lugs over the more historic teardrop lugs

Very art deco, and very strong identity. Was there any reason fir you not proceeding? Best, Horo
that's a cool watch! love the color combo, welcome to the Lounge!

Great piece, Horo! Used to have a regular version...

but had to let it go after this little incident with my barber: It found a new home in Paris.
Re: Great piece, Horo! Used to have a regular version...

Radek's piece indeed found a new harbor nearby Paris, Still ticking , And still a happy and proud owner of this regulateur, You did not mention the officer back and the two finished hands (half shining, half matt) Just like owning a small miniature of the middle ages, you're the only one to know, and this is enough and it is just impossible to compare it to another watch (Pateks must be the brand of a special glue or sponge, isn't it ?). Have fun with this time piece and take care
Thks mate. Incident with Barber?

Sounds kinky!! Can elaborate before my mind goes further off tangent?! Best, Horo
He was just wearing the fake, Horo ;-) No double truths...
03/01/2011 - 23:49
I did get a nice hair-cut that day though
He won't be the first to wear a fake!!
03/02/2011 - 19:14
Truth be told, if he is wearing the real thing, you might not tip him after the haircut!! I know I won't! Mine wears a Bell n Ross, so he gets a tip. Best, Horo
Stunning watch, congratulations Horo! (nt)

I concur, it's like a facelift given
03/01/2011 - 18:29
And I totally enjoy the watch each time get round to wear it. Sadly, it gets about one day a month, sometimes none. Best, Horo
Nice watch. And pse don't fell like an underdog cause
03/01/2011 - 04:32
VC is in the same level as Patek & AP. They just buy Pateks because they know nothing about watches but want to show off  I am kidding of course. No matter what the watch is, as long as you love it, it's good! Enjoy!
Truth is....I exaggerate
03/01/2011 - 18:34
But on the whole, I find VC owners more knowledgable about horology and if there is a "my watch is more expensive then yours" syndrome, VC owners trails PP and AP owners. Being a owner of PPs and APs, I have formed certain views after some time, and some of the things I think would be rude to be written here! But on the whole, I appreciate and enjoy the quiet elegance of a VC more then the AP and PP....not always the norm, but still..... Best, Horo
Have to strongly agree on this one :-)

The atmosphere here though I don't post too often nowadays is far better than the atmosphere I get when I sit down with the rich-but-know-sh!t-about the watches they're wearing (ok, maybe I also exaggerate haha) other than being a solid "investment". Kudos to the people here. A firm examples would our great moderator, Alex and a lounger, Radek. They are both wealthy but when they talk about watches, it's always about the enthusiasm/passion the have for VC ...not on how rich they are to be able to afford those watches unlike most people I know in my circle.

Welcome Horo. Great watch . The first DTR I saw was Doc's and it was love on first sight. Then I remember Alex one day post a picture of the Rose Gold-Grey Slate Anniversary Edition and it was like seeing your love in a wedding dress. Please post more pictures.
I will post more pics of it later, after I get home.
03/01/2011 - 18:36
And thks fr the welcome. Best, Horo
