My VC Patrimony Traditionelle 1 year later....

Worn my VC Patrimony Traditionelle for around 1 year now! Time flies!
My VC is always special to me as it was my entry watch to haute horology.

It has timed some of the most beautiful moments in my life the past 1 year, esp with my newborn few weeks back (I shared a post on that).

Some hairlines on the bezel and case but after 1 year.... i can say I not just love this watch as much as I did when I first got the piece but i love it even more now! It has gone thru some tough business meetings with me but also lovely times with the family.

Now I know why watches are so personal to us... they time our best moments as well as our struggles... our trusty companion thru good and bad times.

Here are some pics of my watch 12 months later. Not looking brand new anymore but... much closer to me than before (when it was brand new in the box).

I will always cherish this piece and one of my 3 kids will get it some day. :)
This is our Patrimony indeed. Thank you fellow Loungers for sharing your watches with me here for the past 12 months and walking along this journey with me. I may not respond to all posts here but I love all the watches and pictures you share!

cheers

and still going strong with your Traditionelleyes I like the piece when you say one of your children will inherit the watch sometime down the road. I have two daughters and don't see them wearing any of my VCs. But who knows, maybe in 20-30 yrs the size and design won't make a difference to them and they will end up wearing daddy's cherished babies on their wrists... Time will only tellsmiley anyway, all the best and may your Traditionelle tick away many more happy times for you and your loved ones!
Radek, I think designs are becoming more and more universal

or unisex as far as men's watches are concerned. More and more women are wearing men's watches.  Or else you always have the son-in-law's  to enjoy them ! :-) :-) smiley
Thanks for your well wishes!

I am sure your girls can wear your VCs! I have seen many women in Singapore wearing supposedly men's VCs and they look great on them too. cheers robin
Robin, I always love it when I see posta of the Patrimony...

. Like you I own this very same piece, and mine is two and a half years old. Also, while this is my second VC, it is the first I bought myself, and my first proper entry into Haute Horology (while my first VC has a calibre 1003, so I guess that too qualifies).  Love your photos, and love your words of wisdom.  Currently my Patrimony is awaiting collection at VC in your country where I gave it for servicing in February.
Ah... hope you get back your VC soon!

Thanks KK. I am sure you are missing your VC! Since Feb? That's a bit long! but I am sure you will get it back looking as good as new again and it will be well worth the wait. Pls post some pics of it when it's back! cheers robin

Great post Robin. Your sentiments match my own.
I learned my wisdom from all of your experiences too

Becos we can never master time (and space), time keeping is always so magical and romantic. Let's continue to share our watches and experiences with them on the Lounge here. We all grow wiser together! cheers robin
Your thoughts remind me

that we gather patina along with our watches smiley.  Thanks for sharing your pictures and sentiments Robin.
I think I am gathering "patina"...

Faster than my watches are! All the grey hair on my head... and also losing hair.... grrrr Soon my watches will look younger than me! :) Thanks Dean for your interesting reply! Hmmm... i think i should look for a vintage piece with nice patina... cheers robin
sometimes we wear the simplest non-complicated pieces...

Is such a rare and beautiful piece. post some more pictures soon! :) I share your sentiments on simple watches - somehow i can look at them for far longer than complicated pieces, i.e. won't get bored with them, esp designs from VC which are usually timeless and classical cheers robin
great post Robin

Good to see that you are still very much passionate about your VC! It might have a few battle scars, but it still looks fantastic... It is a timeless piece and will make the perfect heirloom for one of your kids - you now have to focus on acquiring 2 more VCs so that there's one for everyone :-) I especially like your last photo - I really need to get a VC with a 4400heart Cheers,  Francois
Thanks Francois. The 4400...

is a BEAUTIFULLY finishied and designed movement! And what made me choose the VC Patrimony Traditionelle over even very strong competitors like the Lange Saxonia or Patek Calatrava. Hope you get something you like with the 4400 too cheers robin
I'm late to the party but happy belated B day, but how will you
08/28/2013 - 01:40
choose which child gets the Patrimony? You need to buy 2 more and not make anyone jealous :-) Thank you for your write up and scans, I hope your watch will continue putting a smile on your face for the years to come
err... I have a son and 2 girls...

Alex, should I get 2 ladies VC then?!  Jokes aside, I have other watches from other brands... but i am tempted to get another VC indeed... someday... :) cheers robin

Still lovely, with added personal character! Alex is right though...you'll need a few more watches to avoid sibling rivalry! smiley May it continue with decades more of satifaction and good times. Joseph
Thanks Joseph!

I wish I have your kind of collection (I always say you have the finest tastes in watches from your collection of VCs and other brands)... 2nd VC... arghhh I must resist the temptation (for now) :) cheers robin
As time goes by...

Robin, your reflection over the past twelve months is most heartwarming. Your journey in time, like many of ours, has nodoubt been mixed with treasured moments coupled with more sensitive issues that we could have handled rather better than we did. That's life! Another year lies ahead and the challenge doesn't get smaller. On a lighter-side perhaps an additional VC will join the family in the fulness of time? My good wishes to you all for many happy days ahead. With all good wishes. Tony
Thank you Tony
