My very personal visit to SIHH and Geneva...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank VC and Alex for yet another invitation to a dinner get-together at the Maison as well as the SIHH. It was really good to see everyone, talk watches and life with friends I knew from HL and now I met them in real lifeMy very personal visit to SIHH and Geneva... - believe me it was a lot of fun and a very precious experience to me.

I would like to thank Alex for his special small gathering that enabled me to enjoy the company of Valerie, Christian, Charlie, Lin and Marie-France and William... It was so interesting to get to know such great personalities on a more personal level! Just an amazing group of friends willing to share their lives together - I'm envious of that...

Alex, thank you again for getting my beautiful watch for meMy very personal visit to SIHH and Geneva...I can never thank you enough, my friend!

All in all, SIHH 2009 was a very memorable and pleasant trip for me. Thanks to all of you who participated and made this experience one-of-a-kind...

Enough talk, let the pictures do the job for me...

Thank you for your comment - I really appreciate it since, to me, you are a model reporter: your coverage of VC events is the best here on HL
Thank you Radek for your kind words.

I believe that quality comes when we have a real passion for and gain true enjoyment from what we do.  One of these days, we should meet up. Cheers, Duncan

Although VC was very nice to allow me to tour the manufacture, I was given the tour together with some Japanese buyers and a couple of Russian ladies.  Needless to say, the amount of enthusiasm was definitely low for these guys who were obviously there as "part of the job".  I am sure it would have been 300% better had I been with at least one more lounger.  Oh well, serves me right for not trying hard enough. Before I forget, congratulations on your new acquisition!!  I see Alex was able to pull through for you (as he always does for everyone).  May it time only happy moments!! Cheers! Kazumi
Kazumi, my friend, you were missed immensely...

The tour of the Manufacture was the next best thing to getting the Malte Tourbillon on this trip. It was a real eye-opener in a lot ways. There are so many aspects to watch-making that we do not fully realize nor appreciate all the time and effort put into the final product... what an amazing experience this visit to the Manufacture was!
Great report, Radek
