New Acquisitions

Greetings all,
I'll bet you thought you'd heard the last from me...for a while anyway.
No way!
While I was in Geneva I had a few other fish to fry or as the French say "autres chats a fouetter".
In fact I had a few watches to pick up.
So this post, the first of three highlights one of the watches.
Alas, its not a Vacheron but nevertheless as you will see below, a mighty fine watch.
This pocket watch, I acquired from Christie's in their November auction in Geneva. They were nice enough to hold it there for me and Alex, bless his heart, was most gracious in picking it up for me.
So without further adieu, here it is.
Jules Jurgensen Pocket Watch Chronometer #17095, from 1925, in white gold. By luck it came with a certificate, the original box and even a small leather pouch.
You can see, as well, that the Certificate was signed by Jules Jurgensen, himself, in Bienne, Switzerland rather than Copenhagen.
This is a jump hour type design, produced by several manufacturers including Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet.
But I have only seen this one with a guillochéd dial and engravings.

The blue line design also repeats at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions.  I believe it is just painted on but it could be enamel work.
I checked with a loupe but couldn't really tell.
The engraving which looks like acanthus leaves is very lovely.
having seen it in real it is fabulous! (nt)

why didn't you drive over the bridge and 450 km more, then you would have been here. But I suppose it was not collected in Copenhagen! Beautiful and classic, and certificate! When I bought this I did get the box and I'm happy for that! Vacheron&Constantin 1920. And in box. Congrats to a fantastic watch, Joseph, once again thanks for all your excellent pictures Doc
