New Acquisitions

This is the first of several new watches I acquired in the recent past, not all Vacheron but all of some significance to me.

The first is an Omega pocket watch, relatively small from the mid 1920's with an excellent Art Deco dial ad case. It's rose gold, 43mm.

The movement is in great shape but the back is very art deco., a lovely piece.

More to come including 2 remarkable vintage VC pieces.

I love that art deco case back JB!

the movement looks to be in good shape, how is it running?

The black dial and hour markers are quite interesting as well.  A great looking watch, CONGRATS!

I look forward to seeing your other, new, acquisitions as well.

BR, Dan

Thanks Dan,

It runs suprisingly well. The movement looks almost new, so it must have been well-maintained.

The dial needs to be cleaned though. The back and crown look good.

The only negative is the lack of contrast between the roman numerals and the grey track. It would have been better on a black background.

I love the hands. They remind me of the Urban Jurgensen hands. They are not in as good shape as the rest of the dial but it's hard to tell because they are so slim.

But you're right ...the back is a beautiful art deco design.

I love it

I cannot wait to see the others, but I am a definite fan of Omega.  I have the "Bond watch" (without the 007 branding).  That case back is beautful, indeed.  I like the overall proportions of the parts the dial I can see.  It looks great.  Thanks for sharing Joseph.

Thanks Jamie,

I have another vintage Omega Seamaster with a very unique dial face from the late 50's.

Finding info on it has been difficult but I will take it to NYC in May and have them look at it at the Omega Boutique.

the Art Deco case back design is SUPERB

Congratulations Joseph.

I like your taste and wait to see (again wink) the next novelties you have added to your collection.

Have a good WE.

Merci bien Liger,

Hopefully I will have one other posted this week. And many thanks for helping me find them.

Best wishes

A real stunner!

Love how the circular theme is reflected throughout the design.  The hour hand is a special treat.  Can't wait to see what is next...

Thanks, Alex,

Yes, I was quite surprised at how clean the movement was.

All it needs is to have the crystal removed and the dial cleaned up. there is some dust under the crystal, on the dial. But that's a very minor thing to do.

Joseph doesn't reveal all but what a cracking start!...

Joseph, the Omega certainly 'kick-starts' the process in great style. What else you've got 'up your sleeve' leaves me with bated breath yes...

I agree with your comments; there is a lack of colour differential on the face, however, putting that to one-side everything else

is a sheer joy to enjoy! Promise that you'll let us have a few more pictures when you've addressed the 'little jobs' that need doing...

With all good wishes

Indeed.... in fact, I searched for a "reaction gif" for "What a tease"...

The results were both eye opening and wolly-unshareable.  So, I will simply say... What a tease, Joseph!

Thanks for the kind words, as always, Tony.

I will try in the next few days to take a few photos.
