I purchased a brand new Overseas last week and after ordering I realized I wanted a croc band. I was informed by my dealer that Vacheron was releasing a band for the watch, but that it would have red stitching. Does anyone know if this is the first of many, or is this going to be the only choice? Please tell me there will be more options as I hate to sell the watch and take a beating.
verseas which you will be the first to see here on The Hour Lounge but can't talk about it yet, but believe me it is a damn cool watch!
I don't have more information but I do believe that straps (leather and rubber) will be available for the Overseas models but not until 2008.
Can you tell us more about the design and movement of the new limited ed. OS? Am interested to get one. Thanks!
a date when you may have pics and when they plan on the release. Had a milgauss once with the black dial red lettering and I put on a black band with red stitching and it looked spectacular.
Alex, do you have some pictures of this limited edition crocodile band please (not a teaser einh!! LooL)?
I have never seen it!
...as you know I'm an investment banker, which means I chose the Dark Side...
I have learned not to rush you on the OS subject. Am waiting patiently...
I would like to know, though, whether the new OS leather/rubber strap will fit, in any way, the Royal Eagle line. I remember the converstaion we were having on the Lounge the other day. Now I'm thinking you were quite right - a rubber strap would make a great addition to my Royal Eagle and turn it into an elegant sports watch...
the lugs are not the same. The Overseas has a kind of indention on the lug where normally the links are attached and you would need a strap with a U sape.
The only solution I can see is getting a non VC rubber strap, what would really look cool would be a Kevlar strap on your watch!!
You are a man of a true taste
I cut my last post short...
Non VC accessories don't work for me. I will just wait for a VC rubber or Kevlar strap.
One more question, Alex, if you don't mind.
Recently I have ordered a couple of straps and a buckle at my AD. Straps arrived OK but the buckle was a mess. I specifically ordered a stainless steel pin buckle (regular tang buckle) for my Royal Eagle. They said Ok and when it arrived it turned out to be the very same deployant clasp. Does VC make stainless steel pin buckles at all?
catalogue as its only non Overseas steel watch is the Malte Tonneau Chronograph which comes only with deployant. A solution would be searching the internet (ebay is a solution) where you could find a vintage steel buckle.
although I do not find it very comfortable. It just simply unclasps sometimes and you have no control over it :-(
Well, if begging doesn't work, I thought I'd try some "reverse-psychology" on our Jefe.
On second thought, a gun pointed to the head might be more convincing...
...Now where was that phone book with my list of Yakuza connections....
that? Just send me a 6 digit figure on my Cayman Island account and you will recieve a photo in a brown enveloppe withi 48 hours :-)
6-digit figures, Cayman Islands account, brown envelope... Sounds to detailed to be made up!
Anyway, now I know how our Don finances his horological hobbies.
You should go into politics next Alex. Then your journey to the dark side will be complete...
