New Cufflinks

I just received this Friday my first set of VC Cufflinks.  I did not know what to expect, as I ordered them without ever seeing in the metal any VC pieces.  But, the photos in the catalog were gorgeous, so I took a chance.

I own Patek cufflinks, and I was expecting similar packaging.  But, the FedEx package was too small.  But when I opened it up, guess what?  Inside the FedEx box was another FedEx box!  I thought this was a gag.

Then the fun began.  There is a white casing sleeve covering a beautiful VC embossed mini box, a la there current new watch delivery setup.  I open up the cover of this box, and voila, there is a beautiful leather pouch.  By the way the mini box has a fold down side to facilitate removal of the leather pouch.  The leather pouch is also embosswed with VC.  Then you slide out another mini tray, and there you have the cufflink pillow with stand offs to hold the cufflinks.  The cufflinks come in individual plastic sleeves.  But, you also get another surprise, a travel small pouch to put the cufflinks in as well.

I ordered the Patrimony Rotor Cufflinks.  The workmanship is awesome.  See below the pix:

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this something that can be ordered through any AD?
they are only available via VC Boutiques and not ADs

To bad, but on the other hand since it ads to their rarity it makes them that much cooler.

My thanks to all for your responses and congrats.  Since several have not seen the entire package, I have included the outer box, the inner leather pouch, and the travel pouch for additional view. Also I am wearing them today with my OS blue dial, so front and back shots are included.  I really love the detail on the back of the cufflink.  It works so well with the steel bracelet and the clasp engraving too! Sorry for the out of order, I did something wrong on the uploads. Enjoy! Joe
Oops, here is the travel pouch

How about a new Hour Lounge rule!

...nice outfit you have going there, Dean!
Reminds me of a discussion we had at THL

dinner in Geneva. A lapel pin for Loungers, a watch for Loungers/Hour Club members? Maybe this could be a contest that leads to a product we can all enjoy, spread around the world as V&C's greatest ambassadors. What say ye, fellows? Best to you all, Tim
I'm ALL IN! ;-)

This was talked about and I support it.
I have a meeting with VC management soon about this and

believe it or not I had actually posted a waring about this in my

original post but deleted itdevil
Having thought about this a bit
03/05/2013 - 18:05
...but not privy to the conversation to which you refer, I think maybe a lapel pin or cuff links or some accessory is the best way to go.  I have a feeling that it will be really difficult to come to a consensus on a watch design that everyone would feel 100% about buying, and a watch would, after all, be a major purchase when many of us already have long lists of watches from VC that we already want.  Heck even an acessory like cuff links from VC would be a major purchase for some of us, but certainly more doable than a watch. But I am excited by the idea of a Lounger special edition something. Robert
Very good points Robert. I would like to start
03/05/2013 - 18:55
with the lapel pin, that would be a great conversation piece and then we can move into the watch-- that will take some time. Best, Tim
Tim, we could take a lesson from the past
03/05/2013 - 19:02
and the inaugural Chronometre Royal, which saw over 3,000 watches purchased on subscription!
Yes Dean and with that past we can create a
03/05/2013 - 21:38
grand future piece. My IT people are all in China working on projects, but if one of the artistic Loungers with some good software could venture forth a  rendering of this idea: The Lapel pin would be a shield format, the Maltese cross could be slightly raised and this would be in a mix of Red Gold and White Gold. This shield would then translate to the watch face, where we would have the Maltese cross covering the entire dial with a background of a special guilloche that was based on a chain mail design--this could be historically interesting too. Where we put Vacheron & Constantin (I think the "&") is very necessary for this special watch. I am not a big date person on such a special watch, just pure classic design. What say ye, Gentlemen, do we have a project? (Starting with the lapel pin would be best, this will bring out the ideas to move on to the watch.) Can you tell I have just returned from vacation?! Best to all, Tim
My Maltese Cross
03/05/2013 - 22:56
Hi Fellow Loungers! To show my love of VC I have been wearing a lapel pin similar to Tims suggestion in red, white and gold. This small pin (about 10mm square) was a gift from the Malta Pavillion at the 2010 World Exposition in Shanghai. Each pavilion had pins, badges or other souvenirs to share with fellow staff - and I was super delighted to receive an elegant Maltese Cross! Look forward to the Hour Lounge version! With best regards JAMES
lounger special edition something ;-)
03/05/2013 - 23:05
sounds good, Robertyes On a more serious note, I do agree  with your comments. How about HL ties or elegant card holders? best always, buddy!
Hi Robert, I think you see that we all agree with you, :-)
03/06/2013 - 02:56
You were not at that dinner, so some of the details were definitely missed. The conversation talked about some of the official and unofficial VC accessories that people have.  Such as lapel pins, cufflinks, belts, shoes, etc. Alex mentioned to VC management that there is a market for this type of thing among VC aficiaonados.  This then turned to what we Loungers would want, as something special (as well as what Hour Club members would want as well). So starting slow would be the most appropriate, i.e. a lapel pin, then maybe cufflinks, etc.  Ultimately with an endgame of a watch? I hope this little bit of context helps? BR, Dan
Well, I am addicted to VC accessories, as you know
03/06/2013 - 03:49 all of these ideas sound good to me. Thanks for bringing me up to speed. All the best, Robert
It's time to roll-up your sleeves...
03/05/2013 - 22:42
The cufflinks seem to have got in the way and sparked a whole new line of thoughts!cheeky... Perhaps Alex can button-up something to keep us all happywink...... Keep battin' Tony
My sleeve's rolled up and looked what I've found!
03/06/2013 - 04:45
I've always preferred cufflinks to lapel pins :-)
Joseph, a great disclosure...
03/06/2013 - 15:36
You're right, Joseph, you can't beat a nice pair of cufflinks. They do look good!yes... Looking forward perhaps a pair of personalised V "&" C spats is something for considerationcheeky. We're desperate for ideas, Joseph......any thoughts?laugh. Keep smiling! Tony
Thanks Tony,

As far as cufflinks are concerned, my preference would be a tonneau shape, similar to what VC already has, in RG or WG or for those extravagant spenders PT. A stepped edge to resemble a bezel; the central part carved out in the shape of a Maltese cross and filled with enamel, black, white, grey or whatever. You could even have the initials (THL) somewhere on the front, but I would suggest on the little ball or stem, of the link that goes through the sleeve.  For those who escew cufflinks a lapel pin of the same design could be done. So there you go. Regards, Joseph
Joseph, I hope somebody is listening...
03/06/2013 - 18:07
Sounds to me as though you've thought this one through!yes. Take care and regards Tony
Re: Joseph, I hope somebody is listening...
03/06/2013 - 18:55
The reverse would also work, Tony, with the cetral potion as a gold Maltese cross and the area around it in enamel...just a thought.
This sounds great Joseph! We could then transfer
03/06/2013 - 18:11
this design to THL watch! A Tonneau case is so V&C. I still want to work on the knight motif, so let's keep the dream alive. Best to all, Tim

Someone should start a VC accesories master thread where all official VC none watch products are posted.
