New to the Fourm, With a Question

Greetings everyone,

I discovered this forum the other night and I have to say it's a gem!  Taking this time, I'd like to introduce myself.  My name is Joseph and I hail from the United States.  In my real-world job I work in aviation as an air traffic controller and on the side as a corporate pilot.  My intrest in aviation lends itself to my love of GMT time pieces and I've been a serious collector of the Rolex GMT Master and GMT Master II.  Pre-WWI pocket watches are also a big interest of mine and I have been able create a nice collection of some of the rarer pieces.  Lately though, I've been taking an interest in Vacheron but I have to admit my knowledge base is at novice level with this brand.  So that's why I'm here, to ask questions and learn.

My first quesiton is about this model:

New to the Fourm, With a Question

A friend of mine sent this picture a few days ago asking me about the model.  I admit I know nothing about it but I have a sneaky feeling this is a photograph of a reproduction/fake.    Can anyone tell me about this model (the real thing anyway)?  Any information would be just great.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Best regards,

Here's an excellent post you should send your friend: Shady Joe's guide in spotting a fake VC

If you're a fan of watches hang around you'll see some really nice stuff!

Great, thank you.

I hadn't been able to find anything else out by using the usual means so I figured that was the case.  Thanks for the help!

Maybe we need a fakes and frauds photo gallery to provide examples like this?

OMG but that photo is offensive!

fakes have been asked by people who knew they had bought a fake watch (a 50$ VC ?) but hoping deep inside that they had got a bargain! So not sure I want a gallery of fakes...

The best gallery is a VC Originals stuff (nt)

To clear the air,

I was courious about the watch this one was based on...not the fake itself.

You can't learn anything if you don't ask the questions.
