New here. Trying to find out if this watch is real

Hello everyone. I'm trying to identify this watch and find out if it's real, fake or a franken watch.

I heard you guys were the experts.

Thanks for your help.

Real VC movement, but overall a Franken watch (nt)

You can find better VCs for the same price

There's a lot of hype in that ad, and it looks like they may have lifted some of the copy from one of Dean's posts on this site. The face has been cleaned to the point where the "6" below the small seconds has been scrached.

I saw a good example of a VC watch ("tank") at the online store for Tarry Town Jewelers for $2,700 with a much better face, a VC buckle, but with a replacement leather strap and replacement non-VC crown. (It's hard to find a non-replacement leather strap for older vintage on advertised watches.) It's got a beautiful movement with the Poinçon de Genève, and other than the crown, it looks like a decent buy for a VC. (You could probably get it for less than the asking price because of the crown.) Good luck on your search.

Thank you! I appreciate your help.

I believe even the movement is fake

give-away is the non-mobile hairspring stud.  Same with this franken from an earlier discussion.  Never did figure out who EXU was but the balance cock was lifted from a JLC caliber 449, likely to replace a broken original balance assembly.
