New Historiques 1954

Hello Loungers,

I chanced upon a magazine with a couple of photos and a short write-up of what is supposed to be called the "Historiques LIPS 1954".  The write-up says 20 pieces will be sold in Japan first.

New Historiques 1954

Sorry for the poor picture quality.  I only had my lousy cellphone on hand to photograph the photo in the magazine (hence the distorted image).  The dial has vertical guillochage on the upper left and lower right quarters and horizontal guillochage on the upper right and lower left.

I don't have anything more so we will probably have to wait for Alex to shed more light on this new piece.

WOW its already in the press?! Should be launched in Sept and

It definitely stands out from round, square and rectangular watches while being subtly stylish as well.  Thanks for the posting this find!  BR, Dan

Here is Antiquorum's picture of the original ref 4984, nicknamed"Lips" for the suggestive shape of the case sides .  It measured 24 x 39mm and contained a calibre 435/3C tonneau movement with 17 jewels. It would be absolutely FANTASTIC if VC was intending to insert their own tonneau-shaped calibre when this piece is released. This would communicate most emphatically how seriously they take the title of 'manufacture'.
Now that's a scoop!!!
