New Masks - Les Masques watches

In the Toronto area and other parts of Canada there are several supermaket chains which carry an in-house brand of products called "President's Choice" or PC for short. The range of items is quite large and many are quite good. They have for instance a dark chocolate-amond bar (500grams) that comes from France and is absolutely delicious.

But they also have a range of "exotic" sauces for cooking called for example, "Memories of Singapore", "Memories of Hong Kong", "Memories of Schezhuan", etc. You get the idea.

Some are really excellent, well to me they are. Some of you who actually live in these areas many have a different opinion LOL.

Well they just introduced a new line to open the barbeque season here in Canada. We North Americans do LOVE our barbeques! New Masks - Les Masques watchesNew Masks - Les Masques watches

Its called "Memories of Korean Barbeque".

Why am I talking about this? Well, one look at the following photo should explain (Its part of the add)New Masks - Les Masques watches

Well, seeing this ad got me thinking about VC's Les Masques watches. And since I don't have $600,000 handy, I thought, I can create my own Masque watches. All I needed was a small but very sharp knife and  2 of my VC watches.

The results are not too bad either (See below)

There you are! You to can create your own Les Masques watch(es) with only the skill you learned in kindergarden! New Masks - Les Masques watches

Hi JB,

Nice to see the creative juices flowing.

Actually, I am relieved to find someone, aside from myself, who is still into the analog way of doing things - none of that photoshop garbage ( know I'm just kidding, Fred).

As Alex said, you are quite close to one of the new themes.

Keep 'em coming.

I hope you actually did try some of their bbq sauce...after butchering their advertisement.

Second childhood Joseph?

Thanks for making me smile

Shall we start the bidding at $6?
05/28/2008 - 04:06

I believe that the reserve price will be far less than $600K...

As has been mentioned, there is an almost eery similarity between your special, handcrafted and well-executed model and one of the new models from VC...

Come to think of it, yours might be more valuable as they appear to be piece uniques!

Finally, I am a bit scared to think about the "Memories of Singapore" sauce.  I remember seeing in the US, "Singapore-style noodles" and then discovering that the dish did not resemble anything that could be found in Singapore unless you found a cook in a fully drug-induced haze.

Hi Duncan,

For $6.00 I'll thrown in the barbeque sauce!!

The sauces they sell as "Presidet's Choice" are supposed to be authentic. The ones I've tried are quite tasty.

I'll be at the supermarket this weekend and take my point & shoot camera. Even if the sauces are not that great (which I doubt), the labels are quite attractive. I'll post a few photos. They're quite colourful.

There's even one (at least one) for Kazumi -  "Memories of Kobe", which is probably a mixture of tomato sauce and beer LOL... just kidding, Kazumi. The sauce is about the closest thing I can afford compared to the beef!

IIRC, President's Choice was...

also the branding for the house brand of a chain of supermarkets in NYC, D'Agostino's.  I wonder if there is any relation...

Anyway, what I have found is that these "ethnic" foods, flavorings, dishes, etc. can actually be quite tasty and delicious but just have little in common with the geographic location that their names suggest.  Chinese food in North America can be quite good and I have enjoyed many a meal of it but it holds little resemblance to the real thing.  I just find it easier to distinguish between Chinese and Chinese-American foods...

Okay, now I am hungry...

And for $6, I will gladly take the sauces and the watches including the "base movements" behind the decorative masks...

LOL and very original Joseph!
