Hi All,
Just joined the club myself - both the "Hour Lounge" Club and the "Vacheron Constantin Owners'" Club.

I live in the US and just bought my first, but certainly not last, piece - an Overseas Dual Time.  Well, technically my wife bought it for me for my birthday, so I guess SHE bought my first piece  I will post a "real" picture another time, but for now, here it is.  I look forward to the good discussion here.

My new Overseas Dual Time.
Welcome Jamie to both THL and THC!

What can I say?  First and foremost, you have a great wife! That is a nice wristshot.  It looks like the second time zone is set 4 hours behind the primary time zone?  (or is it 8 hours ahead?) I also see a foot and a sandal.  I hope you are on vacation  (as I figure its better than traveling for work). Best Regards, Dan

Actually is three hours behind.  US Pacific Time, where my company is headquartered.  The picture below will let you see it much better.  Been reading your posts and look forward to "picking your brain" someday on matters horological.
Happy birthday and WOW you really have a fantastic wife :-) Welcome to

No, a most excellent wife! The Dual Time Overseas is a wonderful watcha, a great daily partner and a superb travel companion.  Enjoy that beauty for years to come! Best, Robert

on a lovely timepiece and one of my favourite VC's.  I love the OS Dual Time, and aspire to own one some day.  You have a wonderful wife for gifting you a VC. Wear it in good heatlh. And hope to see you more on the Lounge, and do enjoy the Hallowed Club.

Thank you all for a very warm welcome.  Actually, we live in Naples, FL, so that sandals are daily wear - but certainly not work attire.  I travel a lot so was looking for a dual time specifically, and one that would look equally good in a suit or at dinner in the evening in shirtsleeves.  I enjoy talking about timepieces and horology in general so am looking very much forward to the forum as much as the watch itself.  Will be posting my first (albeit very pedestrian) question shortly.  For now, here is a shot with much better color and clarity.
Look forward to your question.

Truly guilt-free watch

Best part of having a watch gifted by one's spouse is the lack of guilt, but does it increase your desire to up the ante for her birthday?  Have you looked at the latest VC collection for ladies?  Ohhh boy....

Too funny!  That thought crossed-my mind.  Fortunately, she is not a big watch person.  However, she likes other jewelry ... and cars.  Yikes.  Well, I have till November to figure it out!

This may be my favorite OS watch. I have the same watch, but just the time/date version. The only thing that would make it better would be if it was a dual time. I have to ask. Did you have any input in the choice, or did she just surprise you with it? If she picked it out all on her own id be even more impressed.

We had looked at a few pieces together - a couple Patrimony Contemporaines a couple different Overseas.  She ultimately made the decision from about 5 that were on a list of known "wants" - besides some highly coveted Complicated pieces that are left for a future investment. She had a good but of direction, but she made the call. (Hope this answers JBs questoins as well!)
