new superb brown dials on the Overseas

The new Overseas models are now also available with a superb metallic brown dial giving so much character and panache to these watches and will certainly appeal to the vintage collector as the collor is similar to the coveted "tropical" dials! My only problen is I don't know which one I prefer!

Other than steel bracelet all these models come also with brown croc and rubber straps.

Will brown be the new grey, which was the new blue, which was the new black?

The brown dial Chronograph and World Time are pure velvety, chocolate, lusciousness.  I like them the best, as of now.  smiley

the automatic with brown dial is Vincent Kauffmann's favorite

These are awesome. Today was my private appointment at VC where I

saw the new OS collection and also the new QDL. Unfortunately the Blue authomatic was away at a photo-shooot, so I did not get to see that.

But judging by these pics, I would opt for the new Brown automatic. More versatile and will age better.

I loved the chrono. The date at 4:30 is not an eye-sore at all.

I am slowly posting pics on my Instagram account (@khemkakunal) and will soon put pics up on THL.

looking forward in seeing your photos

Sorry, but the only brown dial version I saw in January was the woman's model:

Down to Earth

I throught that the only face color that the Ref. 4500v was coming in was blue or white and that brown was only on the Ultra Thin model. So this is great news. The brown is so much the kind of understated elegance that Vacheron Constantin is best known for. Nothing against blue, black or white faces (my OS 1 is black), but the brown with the brown leather strap is just so right for more formal and with the steel for everyday. (I probably wouldn't have a use for the rubber strap unless .... no not even then.)

Thanks for these pictures, Alex. Motivation is in high gear!

in fact the ultra slim has a grey dial but due its sunburst pattern it

can look brownish depending on light

That explains it.

Some of the pictures I saw looked more grayish than brown, and now I know why.

Thanks

Rubber strap is awesome!
05/11/2016 - 15:00

Maybe not on the ultra-slim, but I would think so even then.  The rubber strap gives it a more sporty casual feel, particularly with a short-sleeved shirt.  Ever since I got the rubber strap for my Gen 2 OS, I am a convert.  You need to see it in person - it is not at all "cheap" or inelegant feeling.

I might tip over...
05/11/2016 - 23:16

Yes, Jtodd, those occasions warrant a rubber strap, and I hope I didn't imply they look cheap. (The one on your watch looks great!)

It's just that on any occasion where I would don a rubber strap would be one where I might tip over and hurt my watch. When the grandkids come, they have energy that is expended generously; and so I tuck my good watches in my case and bring out my Raymond Weil that came with a rubber strap.

Makes sense

And no offense was taken and you did not imply that either. I was just addressing the most common concern with rubber (and my initial one).  Always a good idea to insulate your valuables from rambunctious youth! No grandkids yet, but will certainly Follow your lead when the time comes.

Not "ladies model" but "small model" is considerately namedlaugh

not sure if it's available outside the UK though

It is. I manage to find it at Kinokuniya in Singapore, but the new issues

come in very late.
